How do you hold a cigar between puffs?

How do you hold a cigar between puffs?

• Do you hold it vertically in your hand?
• Horizontally in your hand?
• Horizontally while rotating it according to the burn?
• Put it down and rest it on the saddle of your ashtray?

Or any others -- and why?

Mostly held in my hand. Less in the ashtray. And even less so held with my foot 😊

If I’m doing something that I need both hands it’s held in my mouth. If I’m fly fishing I use this holder someone from here came up with (love that thing). Just hanging out, it’s mainly in my hand. Hardly ever put it down. Don’t really pay attention to holding it according to burn. I just hold it how ever it is comfortable.

I love this! If I ever build my dream man-cave this might have to go on the wall.

I vary among the center column depending on the vitola and what I’m doing.

Probably all the ways, and sometimes with a video game controller, and hopefully with slightly damp fingertips that were recently dipped into the ocean. But, most noticeably, with great pomp and circumstance....as if I'm demeaning myself and everyone else with a wizard spell from the back of a Rolexus Caravan.

A fair number of cigars I hold in great respect, and a few I hold in awe.  The occasional plugged one I hold in contempt. 

And far too many cigars I hold in reserve.  I have to change that.

I've pretty much done everything in the image. I’m normally between my index and middle finger and index and thumb. Don’t normally rest in ashtray unless I need both hands.

Cheerful and sociable with my right hand; elegant and stately with my left hand. Interesting combo.
