It is official.  A day I never thought would happen.  The rapture.  Oh the rapture!  :2thumbs:

Hopefully better days ahead for the "Redskins", sorry I'm older and that's what they are! Been a few rough decades under the Snyder regime. Are they still looking to replace FedEx field?

Ironic that the native American on the Redskins helmet is considered the patron saint of America, St. Tammany

I remember the Sonny Jurgensen days living in NOVA back in the 70's.

Josh Harris on taking over his hometown team: "It is an immense responsibility. Obviously, this is an amazing day for me and very exciting. But I've had many sleepless nights and I will have many sleepless nights. ... I feel an awesome sense of responsibility to the city of Washington. I know what I got to do. And ultimately, it comes down to winning. And it's not easy. There are 31 other owners that are good at what they did ... But it's on me and it's on our ownership group to deliver. And that's what we're going to do."

How Sweet It Is.....

it really has not sunk in. if the cooke family had known what they were unleashing on the team's fans, this would never have happened.

i went back and had a look at the sale in 1999. $800 mill - highest for any sports team in the world at that stage - with the venomous little toad contributing $120 mill of that and partners and financing the rest. not a bad return.

They hit him with a nice little $60 Million dollar fine on the way out the door. For "workplace violations" and stealing shared revenue from the 31 other owners. What a gem of a human.

As a Giants fan, this is bitter sweet. He was clearly never qualified to own the team, but it was great having a perennial loser in the same division. If the 76ers are any indication, it may be a few years before the Redskins are consistently competitive again. But most consistent contenders where built gradually. Any Management/Ownership group that chooses to ride with Sam Howell as QB clearly isnt focused on winning games.

Good for the Skins and there fans.

As a Browns fan I know a thing or two about bad owners. I hope that tanned up lizard Truck Stop Jimmy sells the clowns but I’m afraid he’s going to be at it awhile longer.

Patrick is up soon if i am not mistaken🤣 Take his wife and brother and seems a fair trade?

Edit: PM is a football god imo

Mahomes would not move to D.C. in a million years. KC has their version of Tom Brady and they surely know it!

Snyder needs to be remembered for his complete ineptitude and inability to manage and greed. I hear he is truly a scumbag in person as well. Having the attorney general in DC needing to slap you for stealing from your own fans is just disgusting.

which is a bit rich coming from a team with Daniel jones at QB. the walking garage.

at this stage, way too early to be suggesting Howell is the answer or writing him off. one game (granted beating dallas does make him very popular in DC but we might have to wait a bit more).

Are you a silent partner in the new ownership? Certainly a man of your wealth and stature..........

Old Ox Brewery is celebrating with a special brew. “Tastes like 23 years of bitterness!”

As a Giants fan, I was sorta hoping he’d remain the owner forever 😜

You, Corylax, and I are Giants fans. I think more here also. Surprising how many! I remember the 1970's Giants. 4-12 every season. Dark days!!

Yea. The old Squire screwed his son and the fans for his "legacy".  Glad to see Snyder get fined at least on his way out the door.

Same here.  Saw my first games at RFK with my father in the early sixties. And yea, they are definitely looking to move from Fedex.  Hoping like hell that our stupid City Council will not stand in the way.

Congrats to those who remained faithful to the team in spite of snyder.

i don't think that was ever in doubt with genuine fans, but i think only today have we realised what a giant black cloud that heap of leprous vomit was.

have you ever seen scenes like the stands today? wow! that took me back to the old 'we want dallas' days, where the fans would make the stadium literally bounce. probably not as safe as it should have been but no one cared. today, fabulous. instead of being 80% away fans, we were 99% Washington fans. hooting, dancing, swinging shirts, cheering and singing. and a little bit of yelling at the team for some crap play. the players must have wondered what the hell was happening. so this is what it is like to play for a real team.

loved the shots of the new owner walking through the stands before the game. fans just flooding to shake his hand and thank him. people just so happy. i swear if the new owner was darth vader or bin laden, people would have been just as delighted. anyone but synder.

Yea.  It has been a very tough twenty some years.  This owner group is just what the doctor ordered.  It may take some time to turn this ship around but happy days are here for fans.
