Popular Post Ken Gargett Posted March 26, 2023 Popular Post Posted March 26, 2023 yes, cigar might be a smidge generic, but it was from a box of roller cigars i have collected over the years. the one thing i do know is that none of them are from Hamlet. anyway, it was in superb condition. firm in the hand, dark chocolatey wrapper. a very long slow smoke. took a couple of hours, draw was firm but fine. evolved over the journey. the whisky (and apols, i cannot get photos to stand upright) was a sample bottle for some stuff i am doing (for those who thought i'd splashed out $14,000 on a bottle of whisky, i must disappoint you). truly stunning stuff and they made an amazing match. 10
dominattorney Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 Good story, @Ken Gargett. I must confess, my best pairings have rarely been more articulate.
Nevrknow Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 No worries. @JohnS will be along shortly to fix the photos. 👍🏻😁 1 1

ayedfy Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 Must have been phenomenal! I love young Glenfarclas but in my opinion they’re one of the distilleries that is almost guaranteed to get even better as the age (and unfortunately price tag) goes up. 15 used to be a mainstay but now a special treat at current prices, 25 a marked step up, and 40 blew my socks off and cracked the 95+ range in my personal scoring.
targa88 Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 Glenfarclas is old school - made the way it should be ( non chill filtered, no colouring, etc). Only 836 bottles of this one. @Ken GargettCan't imagine how smooth it must have been to taste 1

Cigar Surgeon Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 Damn Ken, even I haven't had a pass at the 50 y/o Glenfarclas. Well done.
