In my home office, I have a small fridge for mostly beverages, but also some snacks. Cuz B2B2B Zoom.

Today, I was on a call, and discretely grabbed a pepperoni stick from the fridge and started munching away.  Then I set I down to participate in the call.  When I looked down, I saw this…

From what I understand, white mold on hard cured meats are perfectly safe to ingest. Your own personal receptiveness to ingesting the mold is a different story.

Probably is some form of Penicillium Nalgiovense.  You cant prevent mold from growing on cure meats, so typically they inoculated with good mold that are also killer strains.  

Or at least that is what I hope otherwise I have a problem.

You'll be fine unless you have a penicillin allergy, in which case you'll probably be ok with a little benadryl just in case.
