I was able to grab one earlier this year.

Almost bought one, but then some Cohiba Esplendido's showed up and I bought those and some other cubans that matched the price.  I have heard nothing but good things about that box. Might be my next big purchase, but not too many out there.

Mine showed up back in January, the cigars look and smell amazing!  Do have a couple beefs with the humidor itself though:

• The two back corners are quite rounded off and flattened.  It's not damaged as if bonked on the corner, appears to have left the factory that way.
• There is an issue with the bottom of the humidor's red paint.  In a few spots the paint has bubbled a bit and even flaked off.  That's usually a sign the wood wasn't prepped correctly for finishing.
• Lastly, the removable interior tray is so tight that I've been unable to get it out of the humidor.  I actually pulled the cigars out and loaded the humidor with 58% bovedas to see if it was too humid.  Nope!  Just too tight of a fit to come out.

The humidor is beautiful and I really enjoy having it out in the office to stare at.  Definitely disappointed in the finish work as I'd expect a humidor like this to be pretty flawless.  Did let the vendor know what showed up and they kindly offered a substantial credit or a return.  Net net, the refund hooked me up with a box of Coloniales and Escogidos.  Not so bad in the end maybe

Build quality of Cuban humidor releases is generally poor. They are however pretty to look at. 

There are plenty of those Festival Auction humidors that are unusable due to warped timbers and other issues.

Great insight, thank you!  Can't say I've run across much discussion on the build of these humidors but that definitely helps me understand what to expect.

I saw a few come through the LCDH last year. I think they were $2,500. Seemed high at the time but I'm sure they're already going for $3,000 + right now. 

My issue with these is I would have been too tempted to smoke them.

How are those cigars?  Since I don't give much value to a decorative knickknack in the office, I'd make the purchase decision on the quality and taste of the cigars.  Anyone tried any?

I haven’t had any yet out of mine. I saw a review from cigar rants on YouTube. He really enjoyed the one he had.

I tried the Piramides- it was excellent.
