Popular Post LaoFan Posted Tuesday at 05:01 PM Popular Post Posted Tuesday at 05:01 PM Carbone - Hong Kong. TBH I kinda wanted to not like this place. Thought it seemed like an upscale/juice the customer for as much as you can version of East Side Mario's/Olive Garden. The place is an absolute vibe. Mario aced this brand. The service is ridiculous. The free drinks never stopped. We and another table ended up taking over the whole bar and playing our own music. Everything you want in an Italian place. The spicy rig was as good of pasta as you can eat. The meatballs were on fire. Plate after plate. Normally I would have taken a bunch more pictures...but the phone retired early. Highly recommended...original in NY is on the bucket list now. Be prepared to drop serious coin. 9.4/10 experience. 10 1

Those guys know how to run a restaurant.

Meal, service and atmosphere are A+!

For the better part of 2 decades, Il Mulino (the original) was my go to, favorite Italian place in NYC. Then Carbone hit the scene (again, the original one) and that all changed. And yes, the spicy rigatoni is that good. For my last 3 anniversaries we have tried to get a reservation at Torrisi, and struck out all three times. One of the times, we actually scored a reservation, and a few weeks before, they cancelled our reservation for a "private party" that suddenly came up. We ended up at Monkey Bar instead, which is pretty good too, but I am still waiting to get into Torrisi. Things have changed in the restaurant scene in NYC. Other than Rao's, if you were diligent, you could get reservations at, even the hottest spots. Hell, I was a regular at Nobu, when it was the only one in the world. I proposed to my wife there. But now, you need to know somebody to get in. Torrisi, 4 Charles, The Corner Store? Forget it. Best chance is mid summer, mid week, at 5:00 PM. And even then, it's still pretty hard. 4
chasy Posted Tuesday at 09:13 PM Posted Tuesday at 09:13 PM Four Charles, you just need to know the right guy from Chicago…😉

Popular Post LLC Posted 21 hours ago Popular Post Posted 21 hours ago My wife spent over two hours making the sauce for this Pappardella in rich meat sauce. Time well spent, rich is an understatement! Had with a great 2008 Marchesi di Barolo. Outstanding meal and wine. 8
