moneyneversleeps Posted January 12, 2022 Posted January 12, 2022 I mostly smoke cc but am really enjoying the epernay line. Any other suggestions in the Illusione line? Thanks! 1
CaptainQuintero Posted January 12, 2022 Posted January 12, 2022 The cg:4 is brilliant, probably my favorite NC cigars and stands up to pretty much most CCs I enjoy. Rich and creamy, not much pepper, could be an Upmann easily 👍 1
Popular Post Juliano88 Posted January 12, 2022 Popular Post Posted January 12, 2022 Pretty much the whole line is solid since they use Aganorsa Tobacco in their blends. Aganorsa tobacco tends to be much cleaner than most Nica tobacco. The Haut 10 in my opinion is his flagship cigar. Very twangy like a cuban with a lot of creamy flavors. Big fan of the Holy Lance lancero and the ECCJ 20th is complex yet smooth and balanced. Can't go wrong with much in that line to be honest. I'd also try Aganorsa Leaf cigars from their portfolio. 4 1
moneyneversleeps Posted January 12, 2022 Author Posted January 12, 2022 Thanks, I will be in Reno next month and am going to stop at his Fumare store. 1
Lomey Posted January 12, 2022 Posted January 12, 2022 Haut 10 and the Holy Lance are two cigars that I enjoy. I like the Holy Lance in natural, but the maduro is good too.Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk 2
dicko Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 illusione fume d'amour is all seco no ligero and very niceSent from my SM-G986B using Tapatalk 1
Cazador Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 Illusione Singulare Annunaki is my favorite, but it’s pretty hard to go wrong. If you want something similar to the Epernays, try the ECCJs. 1 1
Mhansen85 Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 Haut 10 i had a box of, they were very good. cant recall too many specific flavors but very well blended 1 1
Sir Diggamus Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 I'll echo several other posts and recommend the Haut 10. I tried the Toro version of this last summer and it was one of the most complex NCs I have ever tried. It opened with a smoked meat flavor, transitioned to a lighter more floral note, transitioned to cream and caramel in the second half and finished with a cream and spice note. I also enjoy the Holy Lance in the candela wrapper. grassy and cream most of the way through. I got into Illusione through the Epernay and loved the cookies and cream note I got from it, but I think the Haut 10 is next level from the Epernay and worth seeking out. 2 1
traveller Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 Just got some La Grande Classe Rex, but I haven't tried them yet 1
medzikone Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 Finally I was able to get 10 packs of Epernay and HL Natural. Oh god, what a great cigars. I would say HL is at least as good as Epernay. 2
Pharmacovigilant Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 Agree with the replies above — the Fume D’Amour (French for “to love smoke”, roughly translated) and Haut 10 are awesome smokes. 1

MossybackR Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 The Epernay is my favorite Illusione blend. I find that the C4 (and some of the other blends) need more aging to smooth some of the tannic bite. 1
traveller Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 I particularly like The Epernay Le Elegance, sticks out in my mind as one of the top cigars I've had. 1
MrBirdman Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 If you can find any H-Town lanceros still available, they are one of the 2-3 best NC cigars I've ever smoked. If you like salted roasted peanuts, you'll be in heaven. My understanding is that they are based on the Singular Phantom blend - never tried one though to confirm. 1
Huckleberry Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 The Cigares Prive' blend in which they used Ecuadorian Habano wrapper and produced for the Premier Cigar Association trade show is the best NC I have had in quite awhile. Their website has shown they have taken these cigars main line but only in cafe rosado corojo wrappers along with a Capa Fina' grand san andres wrapper. I believe it is their use of Criollo and rosado corojo that make them somewhat cubanesque. Their maduro wrapper leaf is Capa Fina' grade san andres maduro wrapper. I am a sucker for the rosado corojo wrapped versions of their cigars, as well as the Prive' they dressed in habano for the 2020 show. These cigars seem to be expertly blended for complexity, instead of trying to wrip your face off with spice and whatever else the throat punchers love to create. 2
KayaKowboy Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 Haut 10 is my favorite, but everything in the Illusione portfolio is worth trying. Even their budget rothschild cigars are pretty good. 1
