Popular Post Jack Posted August 5, 2021 Popular Post Posted August 5, 2021 Brand: Ramon Allones Vitola de Galera: Pesadilla Release Name: Pesadilla del Torcedor Ring Gauge: 180 (all measurements are approximate) Size: 72 x 700(mm) Length: 28 inches Vintage: Early 1950’s Condition: Poor. It looks like it was kept in the back of a rally car through about 10 seasons of racing. It must have been amazing when new. History: This cigar was imported into the United States on a pre-revolution vacation trip. I purchased it from a private party in 2006 and the only information provided was: “My uncle went to Cuba in the 1950’s and this was in his estate.” Warranty label is perforated, indicating a pre-1961 cigar. There are no irons or “Made in Havana Cuba” on the box. Included card reads: “Specimen Cigar – Specially Made in the Ramon Allones Havana Factory” Photos of this cigar have been reviewed previously by H&F. No information is available. A well-constructed, all tobacco cigar, the PdT is an attention drawing marketing effort. It was likely devised to make you stop in your tracks and draw you into a shop. It could have been produced for an exhibition, or possibly for use in an experimental shrinking ray. Ribbons hold the cigar to a board that makes removal for display simple and safe. Shown in one photo with a box of petit coronas for scale. Sadly, not in smokable condition, but I’m sure someone named Rob could figure out a way! 8 1
NSXCIGAR Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 It certainly does look like a, well, specimen...
Nino Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 Thanks for the pics and the details. The cigar looks exactly as described by its name : The rollers nightmare ( La Pesadilla del Tocedor ). Guess a refund would be hard to get if you agree to a cigar that goes by that name .... 🙂

I wonder if they still have the mold? 😁 1

DeskSmkr Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 Could be patched up! With enough cigar glue to supply HSA for the six months, who doesn't love a good jigsaw puzzle? Or slowly humidify, then apply a new wrapper right over the top?

That was what I originally had in mind, but after examination it looks like a formidable project. More of a curio than anything else at this point.
