Popular Post Bijan Posted March 20, 2021 Popular Post Posted March 20, 2021 Cigar was 14.7 g, so just over official weight. Looked lightly bunched so I used a 9mm punch, that might have been a mistake with the large RG. Lit up with the expected dried fruit, dried fig flavours with a bit of leather. Stayed that way for 10 maybe 15 minutes. Then one side of the wrapper became burnproof. Had to keep touching it up. Flavours became menthol and tobacco (maybe some gasoline). Only positive is that the ash didn't want to drop, so good for this contest. At about 2 or 2.5 inches tapped the cigar to get rid of the ash and it didn't want to go. Kept going until it eventually fell at almost 3 inches. Wrapper started to cooperate again and got a bit of dried fruit and leather, but pretty faint. 60 minutes not quite to a nub. 2/5 overall. Maybe even being generous here. Weather was -2C, -3C, not much wind, 70% humidity. 14
ReturnFreeRisk Posted March 20, 2021 Posted March 20, 2021 Always a bummer when EL burn doesn’t cooperate at comes in at that score. Hope you have more to pull that average score up higher. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
Edicion Posted March 20, 2021 Posted March 20, 2021 Wow. Some similarities and feedback with the Halfwheel review the other day. To me they were the best LE of the 3 in 2019, so I'm hoping the remaining ones I have keep delivering! Will put one in the rotation. 2
rcarlson Posted March 20, 2021 Posted March 20, 2021 Dried egg, menthol, gasoline. What's not to like? 3 1

The problem with half wheel is they rate CC’s so ridiculously we don’t take them seriously anymore. 3

I did really enjoy my previous one from the Christmas sampler and I have 4 left, so I hope the next one will be better. 2 hours ago, Edicion said: Wow. I didn't have the RA EL 2019, but the one from the Christmas sampler was one of the best cigars there.
Tstew75 Posted March 20, 2021 Posted March 20, 2021 The 2 I've smoked have been pretty one-dimensional, but honestly I expect almost zero out of a young LE. Revisit in 5 😄 1

Even having experienced this dud, I am still questioning the rest of their review about as much as my own taste buds 😂 2
PuroDiario Posted April 18, 2021 Posted April 18, 2021 Interesting review, i have seen them all over the place. I have two boxes of this. Should i pop them open or lay down and BR when appropriate? 😃 1

I did smoke one again and must say they are glorious, despite being young. I do understand when described as one-dimensional BUT what a great dimension that is to be in for 1 hour. I would buy up any reasonably priced box I could find. 3
Mickey D Posted April 18, 2021 Posted April 18, 2021 Very good and interesting review. I really enjoy reading these reviews. Most of my CC inventory is rather young so I haven’t been fortunate to really sample a extraordinary cuban cigar. thank for the review. 1

I've never bought a box of EL or RE. Bought a six pack of the Supremos based on the single from the Christmas sampler. And got some other ELs in trades.
PuroDiario Posted April 18, 2021 Posted April 18, 2021 However there are some of them I think have a lot of appeal: either smoke great and you enjoy and have a special treat to offer a friend or two after a good meal, a colleague, a client...or they don’t and you sell them after a couple of years (or keep gifting). 3
