Odessa
Hello FOH, Hope everyone well and safe. Looking for your advice. For how long do you prefer to age: Bolivar Royal Corona Vegas Robaina Famosos Thank you.
NSXCIGAR
Both have pretty long legs. BRC isn't the strongest cigar so I would probably say a good sweet spot would be 7-10 years. VR Famosos are a little beefier. Those could probably go a good 10-15 years and be in real good shape. The good news is that both smoke well young. A few years is perfectly fine. 1
JohnS
I don't have enough experience with the Bolivar Royal Corona to provide an opinion on aging; however, I do have a box of AEM May 15 Vegas Robaina Famosos. They've been uniformally fantastic in the last year to year-and-a-half. I have a quarter of the box left. I don't feel I need to age them longer as they are smoking so well now.
Popular Post 99call
Two things I'd mention With the amount of power and nicotine heft that has been removed from Bolivar over the past 10yrs, they really don't require that much age. I would try them form 1yr on, just so you don't miss out on any of the small degree of power they still possess. With Famosos, although they age wonderfully, for me it's not a cigar that really forgives being too dry. I'm not sure why but there is a lushness in their profile that seems to suit that 'off the rollers table' vibe. I really enjoy them straight out the humi, with no dry boxing. .........but thats just me 5
Silverstix
In my experience (limited compared to the veteran smokers we have here), there is no real benefit to aging the BRC or the VR Famoso more than 5 years. By then they are both smooth as a baby's butt. Like others said, 7-10 years won't hurt them, but there is no need to go that long IMO. Unless of course you're looking for something to age long term for a special occasion (kids birthday, kids wedding, etc.), then you may want something with more heft to it.

SCgarman
I have a TEB 08 box of BRC and they get more epic with every passing year. But far from a "powerhouse"

Little age like a year to 3 is nice, I think it just helps them out of their own funk. Otherwise wait 90 days and start trying them. I’ve got shelves dedicated to aging, you won’t find any BRCs in there. Not a knock on them, I know many guys give them flack, but I still enjoy them for what they are.

The marca is a shadow of itself in those terms.
