Cant wait to see the pricetag on that one.

Probably going to be similar to the QdO.

This new packaging is putting ELs out of reach for me, even for singles at the LCDH. They just aren't that great and never have been to justify $25/stick, Cohiba being the exception.

$25!? Where do you live? I’ve never saw an EL for $25. Talismans were like $50-60. The rest have been $15-20 (with one exception maybe) the last few years. The new QdO is $17. Not cheap by any means but certainly not expensive imo.

The Montes up today are 644/box of 25, meaning $25.76. Last Talisman up on 24:24 that I saw was $650/10 or $1200/20 (2 boxes), so $60-65.

If you're talking in £, then your Talisman price makes sense. Otherwise, you've got great prices where you live!

True. Monte supremos are expensive, $23 here in Sweden. I guess that was the exception.

Monte Supremos are 21 euro in Spain.

Quai d'Orsay Senadores 15 euro.

Expensive, but given the new LE packaging they all have, it looks like Habanos are trying to make the LEs a more "premium" product.

Using FOH prices, the QdO EL is about $19.50US/stick while the Monte is about $25.75US/stick. I would imagine the RA to fall in between those, maybe closer to the Monte, so about $230 for a box of 10 maybe? This is not out of line compared to some of the ridiculously priced REs, but then again, REs are much more limited in production compared to ELs.

I don't think it's a hard pass. There is value in purchasing the EL. All depends on how you look at it. RA had the 2015 Limitida, Which were very well priced, did very well and they are an excellent smoke. And I just saw a couple of auctions on Bond go for 250+ and there is one up now at $260.00...Personally I think the branding they are doing by creating new sizes, new boxes. I think its all great for Habanos. It's going to evolve. If you don't wish to smoke it, don't worry. Don't spend the extra money, it seems the trend now is for the brand to produce production sticks in the same size eventually.

Those prices won't be seen again for ELs. Things have changed. The RACA was decent but it was not a $25 stick. I expect auction prices will plateau out for a long time on them.

The QdO is about $19-20/stick and I would expect the RA to be at least that, probably more. The Monte is $23-25. The new packaging is driving up prices. And again, there's no indication these cigars are that much better than regular production. If you're collecting or investing that's different. I suppose they'll increase in value. But I buy to smoke.
