Spent the weekend boxing up in preparation for a move. Had a couple more than I thought [and maybe a few more than the wife knew about ;)]

Anyway, let's see what you guys are using to catch that ash.

The two I use the most frequently are my Nacional and grid ashtrays. I love them both. Almost wasn't able to bring the Nacional one back into the states on my last trip.  Had to bribe the security agent in Havana airport as I wasn't thinking about it being in my carry-on while going through security and I used my last 50 CUC to have him let me keep it in my carry on since I had no room in my checked bag.  I would never do this again knowingly but it makes for an interesting story.

I feel bad for whoever gets my work computer next.  I keep it clean of ash but I know there is a lingering smoke smell to the keys/screen now haha.

?? I saw this ashtray on a guy’s trip to Vegas, I said that’s really nice, so my buddy bought it on his business trip and sent it to me for my birthday along with a couple padron 1964 !

No two finer people anywhere. Mike and Dana saw my post a few years ago lamenting that I had gone to Cuba (1st trip) and hadn’t the room to lug one of these monsters back. They brought one back on their next trip and then mailed it to me. A complete surprise.   NOT an easy task. 
I will treasure it forever.

A good friend of mine took up woodworking in the last couple of years and his first attempt at an ashtray were gifts for his brother and myself. It is my favorite ashtray.

I’m a bit of a utilitarian when it comes to ashtrays. The one exception is this, which my better half gifted me a few years. Have never had the stomach to really dump my ash in it however so it really is more of a cigar holder!

It’s been a couple years, but I assume they still sell them. You can buy the blank ashtrays fairly easily, so pretty much anybody can have them engraved. Actually I’m surprised more places aren’t selling their versions.

The one I use personally?   Currently it’s this nifty vintage piece.  The button on top actuates a plunger that lowers and spins the center floor of the ashtray and deposits ash in a dish inside.   Think it was a cigarette ashtray by design, but the saddles work well for a cigar as well.   It’s on a stand and is easily mobile and stands about 28” high.

 

I don’t personally have one of these, but I make them and sell them.  This was No. 7 and was commissioned by Pete Johnson of Tatuaje Cigars.
