Now that I've been fortunate to add a few SLB to the collection, I notice about 4-5 cigars have a pretty deep intent where the ribbon was pulling in on them. Haven't smoked one of the dented cigars yet, but I suspect it will be perfectly fine, but that got me wondering about whether or not I should be untying/cutting the ribbon on these guys as soon as I receive them. Some bemoan the box press that dress boxes can give, but it seems like I don't hear as much grumbling about "ribbon dent".

I'd be interested to hear what people do (if anything) to combat that.

It’s not that prevalent in my boxes. I’d say one in five have it and affects about two of the 25-50 cigars. I make those the first sacrifice from the box. ?

I haven't seen any ribbon dents that I've noticed.  But I think once the ribbon is cut, there's a lot less chance to damage the cigars as you take them out of the box.  Otherwise you're dragging the whole boxful up and down just to pull one cigar.

I usually pull out a couple of cigars to weaken the bondage. If I correctly understand the purpose of the cabinet - the box should stand vertically in the humidor Cabinet, and the ribbon holds the cigars so that they do not fall out when you take one to smoke.

The best event in a full cabinet of cigars is poking out the middle cigar to smoke first.  Usually I never re-tie the ribbon, why bother?

I would love to be able to cut down the cabinet's as they get lower so it's always just big enough for the cigars left.

I always found the ones with the dent were the best in the box!

Interesting, never thought of Cabs this way, I only have the ribbon on my BBF and RASS cabs

Wow that does look very impressive. Maybe a good way for me to store the cabs rather than lying them down.

Wonder if that Cohiba Humidor that sold for 2.7mil presents the cigars this way...

When they finally deliver it I'll crack it open and let you know! :D

I think in the future to make a custom-made Cabinet with cells for the sizes of all SLBs that are in production. It won't be that expensive.

I usually cut the ribbon when I go for my first and let the dented ones on the outside "re-shape."  I've found that once I poke one out my clumsy ass will dump the whole whole bundle on my lap every time I go for another.
