I honestly don't think I could smoke them - as much as I would want too... not when I could flip them five years later and buy how many boxes of regular production to put away. 5 years later and $8000 richer should buy a lot of Sir Winnies... I hope ?

Since when do Res/GrRes go up in value? They seem to stay fairly consistent, it seems like

My limited experience of Res and GrRes is based on the London market... they seem to go up in value here! Either way I was going off the double your money on Hunter Bond option. I still would prefer $4000 worth of Sir Winnies. One day I suppose I will have to try one of them. But I don't think I could ever bring myself to a box... but then I have never tried so who knows!

I’ve never flipped a bottle of First growth Bordeaux either. Share it with my bro or a  good friend on special occasions or On a quiet morning C&C and mumble WTF to myself repeatedly. Life is good.

I wish I had 5 boxes of the Siglo GRs. I’d buy a lot of anything else I wanted if I sold those. Haven’t seen a lot of boxes of the Monte GR on resale recently, but I can’t imagine they haven’t gone up in value significantly. If I’m not mistaken, we paid around $800 a box back when they were released. Weren’t out if europe, so the price was cheaper.

I just picked up a box, i have seen many ranges. Between 1500-2900 depending where and the source. 1500 is the very low end. But I figure these are going to continue to go up.

Flip all day...a cigar is a cigar until it becomes $300 per stick.  Then it becomes speculation.

Excellent attitude.  My sister and I used to buy my father a bottle of Lafitte Rothschild for his birthday every year from 1975-1982.  He and my mom said they would wait for a special occasion to open one and almost 50 years later, they are both still alive and still haven't opened a bottle (god knows what they'd taste like at this point).  This past Christmas, he wrapped 2 of them and gave one to each of my daughters who both immediately announced that they would only open one for a special occasion.  I don't know how this reverence for a product skipped me but I agree with you.  Open 'em, smoke 'em, share 'em, give 'em away, anything but waiting for some miracle moment that might never come.

Those vintages are probably perfect for drinking some time between now and the next 10 years :cigar:

I had reason to look up Maureen Reagan today. She died at 60. I turned 60 ten days ago. I’m smokin’ those babies.
