Popular Post El Presidente Posted December 12, 2019 Popular Post Posted December 12, 2019 FOH top 25 2019 "From my records, I have gone through the top cigars for 2019 in terms of quality. Now for a cigar to have been eligible, I needed to have seen a minimum of four mastercases during the 2019 period. Plenty of great cigars just missed out. The Quai D’Orsay 50, Juan Lopez Seleccion 2, Partagas Serie E Number 2 were all on the cusp. Rafael Gonzalez Petit Corona and Vegas Robaina Famoso, Partagas Serie D 5 etc, I just didn’t see the requisite quantity. Some cigars had a great half of the year but were let down at some period. Tabacuba have generally done an excellent job of getting some consistency into big production cigars such as the Monte 4 and Monte 2 through 2019. Others such as the D4 and most of the minuto’s struggled. Some such as the Montecristo Media Corona I left off as while I saw a lot of boxes, they were from 2016-17. To put the below in perspective, just over 20,000 boxes were inspected this year." 2019 has been a very good year. Let's take a look at the star performers 1. Quai D’Orsay 54 2. Romeo y Julieta Churchill 3. Trinidad Fundadores 4. Partagas Lusitania 50 cabs 5. H. Upmann Number 2 6. Ramon Allones Specially Select 50 Cabs 7. Cohiba Medio Siglo 8. H. Upmann Connaisseur B 9. Hoyo De Monterrey Double Corona (50 Cab) 10. Cohiba Esplendido 11. San Cristobal La Fuerza 12. H. Upmann Magnum 50 (25) 13. Triniad La Trova 14. Bolivar Libertador 15. Montecristo Number 1 16. Cohiba lancero 17 .Hoyo De Monterrey Rio Seco 18. Bolivar Belicoso Finos 19. Hoyo De Monterrey Petit Robusto (25) 20. Trinidad Coloniales 21. Montecristo Number 4 22. Cohiba Siglo II 23. H. Upmann Sir Winston 24. Cohiba Robusto 25. Montecristo Number 2 10 3
foursite12 Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 Wait...you saw more La Trova than JL 2? Or did you mean quality wise the JL2 was on the cusp?
CptGoodTimes Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 Fabulouso! I acquired 9 of the top 10. How’d I miss the Connie B ?
Riverstyx Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 What’s the cutoff as far as box date goes? Did late 2018 box codes fit into this?
Notsocleaver Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 I'm suprised you saw enough QdO 54 to qualify. It seemed like they were thin on the ground all year.
Wailbait Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 I’ve never had a Medio Siglo. Always wanted to try just one. This sort of seals it for me.
benfica_77 Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 Any box codes for QDO 54 to keep an eye out for that are good? Since it came out on top. @El Presidente 1

Good question ?? I just acquired a TOU because the TOU 50s are primo excellente. I plan to light a 54 up very very soon. Will post review.

Corylax18 Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 You saw more than 4 mastercases of La Trova? That must've been half the world supply. Haha 2
joey rockets Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 Did anyone get 8 out of the top 10 correct in any order? That's a tough call itself imo.
Gamehawker Posted December 16, 2019 Posted December 16, 2019 I Can't believe the H. Upmann Connossieur A did not make the list for 2019! ? 1

Gamehawker Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Wow, I would not have guess there would be not many replies on this thread with other people's opinions and thoughts. Again, I Can't believe the H. Upmann Connossieur A did not make the list for 2019! ?

Again, I Can't believe the H. Upmann Connossieur A did not make the list for 2019! ? Simply, 2019 was not the best of years for the Connie A in terms of quality. It certainly wasn't bad ...a bad Connie A is a rare thing indeed!!! However in terms of wrapper quality, it certainly went backward. Between 2019 and 2018, close to 12% less PSP/HQ per mastercase over 2018. It was one of only four cigars to go backward over 2018. 1
mtapia3 Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Did Partagas P2 go backward as well? I was surprised they didn't make the list this year. From my recollection they were at the top of the 2018 list.

Well then, I am glad the latest box code of the two boxes I got of my beloved H. Upmann Connie A were "BRE OCT 18". ? And since I do not touch a cigar until they have at least 3 years (more like 4 years) of age on them I do not know how they will smoke but the wrapper color and the smell is incredible! 2
Bri Fi Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 Is this list in reference to appearance and construction or does it include how well it smokes?
