El Presidente Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 What a fantastic weekend of Rugby is up this weekend! If Ireland beat the All Blacks, I will send a box of Punch Regionals for the FOH Irish lads to smoke. If Australia beat England, I will cry for an hour....and then put on a box of Punch Regionals for the Sydney and Perth Crew for a get together. If Japan beats the Springboks I will send a box of Punch Regionals to Naka to do with what he wishes. I am off to buy the prime rib rack now. I am ready for kickoff 1
BenW Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Prez, if you guys beat us I'll also be crying for an hour! In all seriousness though, I wish you guys the best of luck - it should be a cracking match either way.
Ken Gargett Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 if we beat england then they must have decided match fixing is more fun than rugby. i do think that this is the probably the best team we could field or very close (DHP for beale) but i still don't see us getting within 20. to go into a rugby world cup must win quarter final having changed the 9 and 10 every game since christ knows when should be an automatic jail sentence. in the five world cup games, we have had four different combinations at the most crucial combination. insane. another new one today. how could you possibly expect to play at your best? sooner cheika is gone, the better. thankfully i have been on an island for the last week. zero news. only just saw the teams . no politics, no news, no clown, no toxic hobbit. no fish but still heaven. 1
Habana Mike Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 Cigars for Naka and my Japanese friends! Hard to imagine them in this sport

Have us Welsh been black balled for beating you in the group stages? Would love it if Aussie got thought the final, so we can make it three in a row. (Making the most of my once in a century, opportunity to gloat) My predictions for wins: -England (sadly) -Ireland (with ABs getting a red card) -Wales -South Africa (sadly. I think they are a far better SA team than back in Brighton 2015) Go the brave blossoms!!. Would love them to win. They've played some of the most impressive, enjoyable to watch rugby I've ever seen
Ken Gargett Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 under pressure in our own quarter and beale chip kicks to no one, beetroots have more brains. 1

So frustrating with Beale, he has moments of absolute magic, but they account for 10% of his play.......the remaining 90% is brain farts

99call Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 Commiserations to Aussie, nothing worse than losing to England. Like someone pouring liquid nitrogen on your heart. On the upside you can now finally bin Cheika. Congratulation to England (gritted teeth), looking ominous. 1
Ken Gargett Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 congrats to the poms. we were outclassed. we don't handle pressure. we take the ball standing still. what plan A is, i have no idea but we sure as hell do not have a plan B. we need a world class half and flyhalf, otherwise this does not get better.
Ken Gargett Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 one point worth making is that if you don't have cable, just free-to-air, they are not bothering with the NZ v ireland game. the mob that have it have three channels on which it could be shown but repeats of sitcoms and reality crap and old romcom crap is apparently more popular. also not showing japan v south africa. if rugby can't get great games from the world cup finals on tv, free-to-air when the station has the rights, it is dead here. the world cup, once every four years, but not enough interest. spare me. meanwhile, the league 9s with australia about to play the final v the kiwis is so chock full of talent and freakish skills - so many players who'd improve the wallabies, who'd show some toughness and determination - that it becomes even more depressing. and thanks very much england. now i have to hope the kiwis win the semi, assuming they beat ireland. if that isn't the bottom of the barrel.
westg Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 We can start with a coaching manual for the under 12's

Half time 22 zip to the All Blacks

westg Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 Ken watched both games at Cigar Social in Perth with Clive. What an amazing venue . Thanks to Rob for the membership. If you are ever over this way , we will take you through . A world class venue . Have to feel sorry for who ever plays the All Blacks 2

I'm glad to hear such things from an Australian trying to make a difference in our cigar community. I 100% concur about the All Blacks.

99call Posted October 20, 2019 Posted October 20, 2019 Goddamit.......France actually decide to show up......Why against Wales!
GavLew79 Posted October 20, 2019 Posted October 20, 2019 It's tense. What was Ken Owens thinking on that last pass? Jeez. 1
99call Posted October 20, 2019 Posted October 20, 2019 YESSSSSSSSSS! Cymru am byth! we were terrible, but we have more heart than any other team in the tournament. It may not get us to the final, but Jesus! to beat Wales you have to burn the corpse and sweep the ashes into a volcano. ?????????????????????????????? Vahaamahina is a disgrace, long ban to follow 1
Ken Gargett Posted October 20, 2019 Posted October 20, 2019 don't think anyone was cheering more for wales than my 88 year old mum. we have welsh heritage. as usual, france their own worst enemy. that elbow. what a moron. that cost them the quarter. that said, i am so sick of the refs deciding games and although pypper was generally good, some shocker decisions. the french should have got that penalty under the posts near the end and then the game out of reach. and immediately down the other end and he gives wales that try. it clearly goes forward from the strip. nearly choked when they said they could not tell. that was appalling. if i am the french, i am seriously pissed. but then france should not have kicked into the posts, not had the man off for the red, etc etc. next weekend looks exciting. sadly, can't see the japanese and south africans. thanks channel 10. tossers.

Ken agree with all you other points. But the strip initially goes marginally backwards, and then forwards. Let's say your playing in extremely windy conditions. If you throw a legit backwards pass, that then travels forwards with the wind, it obviously is still adjudicated to be a legit pass. I agree the ball goes forward......but only after it goes marginally backwards. The ball in being violently ripped, obviously had all sorts of physics at play. I think they got it spot on. But then again I'm looking through daffodil tinted glasses.
99call Posted October 20, 2019 Posted October 20, 2019 Japan already doing amazingly well to scupper multiple chances. SA lacking composure for the final passes
