I have seen an Hoyo De Monterrey tube before that looked like rolled lead or tin.   I'll try and find it in my files

 

Here you go, @Ken Gargett   This has surely got to pre-date any aluminium tube production, as it appears to be lead soldered tin.  As the packaging suggests these were especially packaged for Abdulla & Co tobacconists on 173 New Bond Street, Mayfair
