Popular Post El Presidente Posted June 24, 2019 Popular Post Posted June 24, 2019 From the pre embargo time when the factories were privately owned and a cigar merchant could go and have his own blend/cigar made. Generally they would pitch the concept to the different factories and then decide upon the best outcome in terms of cost and taste. I would love that world to come again. I have an inkling that it just may if I live long enough. These cigars were in beautiful condition. Held in the Fox keep. The period if I recall correctly was 40's & John Morgan & Sons Limited were liquor and cigar merchants. \ 23 1
Philski Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 Wow. Glad it's not my choice whether to keep or smoke...
benfica_77 Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 That's amazing! Those cigars have been through quite a bit including probably a couple bombings if they are from the 40's! Wow!
SenorPerfecto Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 Holy cow those look so good. Yes I believe the handwritten code on the label indicates March 1, 1945! 8 May, 1945 was V-E Day, so this would have been one of the last Cuban boxes delivered during the war. SMOKE EM

SCgarman Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 Would be a damn shame to die without smoking at least one of those! Why save 'em? Unless they are going to auction for a fortune.
teamrandr Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 Beautiful vintage smokes! Of course they deserve to be smoked.
OZCUBAN Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 Eventually they will have to smoked, just whiskey is meant to be drunk.i guess I am like everybody here and am curious as to have they withstood the test of time? Thanks for posting Rob ??
BoliDan Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 You could also have custom if you solicit the government directly. However, you need to be money-out-the-ears rich. https://www.friendsofhabanos.com/forum/topic/138608-cohiba-double-lanceros-unique-size-custom-made-for-uday-saddam-hussein/

I think that half the fun is delving into what was going on at the period of production. They are encyclopedias as much as cigars 2

They are encyclopedias as much as cigars An encyclopedia is worthless unless opened up and read, and these cigars are the same way. 75 years old and full box. Time to pull one out, cut and light it up. Otherwise, what's the point?
