Finding Gold in Spain

I am currently traveling on holiday through Spain and for those interested will list places herein that I was able to find some quality sticks. In Spain the Tobacco shops are prevalently referred to as “Estancos” although almost every single shop has a “Tabaco” sign out front. These shops are everywhere in Spain but only a small minority cater to the Habanos enthusiast.

2018 La Gloria Cubana D No. 5 (10) RE Espana - got a few boxes of these and you can find them everywhere they made 50,000 they smoke fantastically

Sevilla

Beautiful city its been 26 years since last I came to the South of Spain. Some fantastic seafood in the Triana neighborhood (much less tourists if you get into the heart of the neighborhood).

2. El Corte Ingles

If you happen to be in Spain, never walk by an El Corte Ingles department store without going in and checking their Habanos inventory.

They had had several of these absolutely gorgeous jars of Habanos but there is a ? chance these jars would break by the time I got home. Stunningly they were selling some singles.

The sad thing was I had to reject about 10 SPS cause they were banged up pretty good - even the ones I bought had some very minor wear. Nice pull.

 

 

A Coruna

I hesitated even listing this place and I may change my mind and delete this soon   ?

Under 5 minutes walk from the train station on the main street of A Coruña sits this absolute gem of an Estanco.

The proprietor told me that the day before my arrival a Chinese gentleman came in and purchased almost all his old stock. ?

ALMOST being the key verbiage.

So I was able to land the following:

1. Sancho Molinos 2007 (10)

2. R y J Belicoso No. 2 2001 (box)

3. R y J Exibicion No. 4 2001 (4)

Also they have a private lounge that I was admitted to with a special tour of the private members lockers and stock. I promised not to divulge the contents but HOLY F%€!

They still have a box+ of Partagas Lusitanias from the early 2000s - I am so far over my budget I couldn’t even look at them. Hopefully a good FOH B/S OTL can snag those.

Great info thanks, take note: there are even more finds to make if you travel and scour small towns and even villages - you’d be surprised that even small town could have an estanco with a good size Cuban humidor

Sounds like I need to make a trip to Spain. Maybe tack on Andorra, as I hear they have an excellent selection too. Especially for a population of less than 100k people

Visited same store in Spain and many others in Andalucia last year. found even BHK 52, 54 and 56 and H. Upmann Robustos EL 2012 in Cordoba.

Would love to buddy but I am on the opposite side of the country about as far NW Spain as you can get.
