Puros Y Vino Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 Paging @Ginseng IIRC,he has done this many times and swears by it.
Fugu Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 Let's face it - it's as anecdotal as so many other things. A cigar can only be smoked once. How had the pre-revolutionary smoked without waterboarding? 1
mkz Posted July 13, 2018 Posted July 13, 2018 I just gotta chime in on this. Just tried this technique on a pair of aged and rather dried RyJ... Worked like a charm! -98 ex4 and -97 celestialies finos smoked better than ever. I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't tried it! 3
Ken Gargett Posted July 13, 2018 Posted July 13, 2018 i tried it once. i assume that this was supposed to be posted on april 1? i went very light with the moisture being the first time. wrapper went chaotic. made a mess of the entire thing. eventually dumped the cigar. never ever again.
LGC Posted July 14, 2018 Posted July 14, 2018 But, but, you're rinsing off all the plume!! ... and the extra 10 dimensions of complexity that those fuzzies possess...

RijkdeGooier Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 With the day’s temp over 100 degrees I decided to experiment with this today. Ran an older Upmann Epicure under the tap. Wet the wrapper (just a bit not soaked through) and lit up. Flavors were somehow a bit rounder than usual. Pleasant I’ll do It again? 1
hedgeybaby Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 I tried this on ashrivelled up romeo no 2 that I bought. Worked a treat. 1
Elvis Posted July 18, 2018 Posted July 18, 2018 This topic appears to have a long history on this board with a lot of interesting content, a search for "rinsing" and "dousing" will bring up some great threads. The first one I found goes back to 2009: The responses are pretty incredulous! I've used this method on both young and old cigars with good results. I've never heard of it having an adverse affect until Ken's recent mention of a chaotic wrapper.
