Goes so well with a cigar ;)

ST. AGRESTIS BOTTLED NEGRONI

Based on a new aperitif from Brooklyn spirits company St. Agrestis, this bottled Negroni makes a classic cocktail even easier to consume. The cocktail is made using local Greenhook gin and sweet vermouth and is ready to drink right out of the bottled at an approachable 48 proof. Each bottle is 3.3 ounces and is best served over ice with an orange twist or topped with prosecco.

@JohnS as the cocktail expert - what are your thoughts? We should buy this and do a side by side tasting with your homemade one...umm...for science....

One thing I'd do with this, is to pour it over ice in a blender, add a small drizzle of blue curacao, and make a frozen purple negroni.  The magic of a cocktail is lost if you buy it premixed, IMO.

OMG. A dream come true. Less time mixing.....More time drinking. If only we can keep Toby from shattering the glass on the toast??

Talking of Negroni's. The (very sadly) late and great Anthony Bourdain makes one:

Thanks for posting this HB. 2 of my favorite things Anthony Bourdain and Negronis.

I agree with the 2 drink limit, when broken, things get messy.

I love the complexity of them, sweet and dry all at the same time. Funny thing is, I've yet to meet another American that will drink them other than Habanos Mike.

All your fault mate, all your fault!

I find that the Vermouth is the key though the Gin has to be right too - lighter on the juniper...

Carpano Antica Formula is best I've found so far.

Recipe, Mike?

Easiest you'll ever know!

1:1:1 over ice. Garnish with an orange peel. I toss a couple drops of orange bitters in mine,

Yes, Carpano Antica Formula is the best sweet vermouth on the market currently, in my opinion. I use Dolin, as it's a quality sweet vermouth for half the price of Carpano Antica Formula (at least here in Australia), but I like to use Four Pillars Spiced Negroni Gin as a variant for my recipe. Try it, if you can find it!

I favour Formula Antico with a pretty straightforward gin, so I usually go for Plymouth.

Ever tried making one with Bonal instead of vermouth?  Pretty interesting twist.
