Popular Post dicko Posted June 2, 2018 Popular Post Posted June 2, 2018 I'm loving this release... Golden wrapper a little veiny and a few tiny green spots but all good. Nice and thin. Construction was bang on. Good draw, heaps of smoke, burn pretty good too with no touch ups required. I'll do the flavours in halves as this is a small cigar. Speaking of I didn't measure this but it does not look or feel 50 ring guage more like 47-48. Not complaining though as it sits nice in the hand. Ok so cigars are expensive full stop especially in Australia but I think the price is not too bad on these. Yes I know you don't smoke the packaging but I think they nailed the presentation on these; both box and wrapper. 1st half started sweet and smoky. Kind of like apple or cherry wood smoking on a bbq (yes I have pork ribs on the weber today). Creamy and buttery flavour and mouthfeel. Cedar wood. This is mild. No spice mayyybe some cinnamon. I'm smoking this at 11am with a glass of homemade lemon cordial. This is a morning smoke for sure. I had one after dinner recently with a scotch and yes it was good but I think I will be smoking these primarily during the day. 2nd half still sweet, woody and smoky. A little more earthy flavour coming in maybe some hardwood. No real evolution here but the flavours you do get are very tasty. Perfect for a milder, sweeter cigar. Still youthful so I let this go with an inch left. Maybe a 40 minute smoke just now. I have to give this a 91 with some upside I'm sure. Give them a try if the profile suits. Derboesekoenig Posted June 2, 2018 Posted June 2, 2018 Damn, I knew I should've bought some on the recent 24:24. Next time!
Canoli Posted June 2, 2018 Posted June 2, 2018 Same here I most both times I saw on 24:24 last month. 1
NSXCIGAR Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Not a big QdO fan but I am impressed with the few 50s I've had. Prefer them to the 54s as well. 1
LLC Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 I had one single and enjoyed it. Of the two boxes I have I think I’ll leave them for a long time before I check in on them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
Danimalia Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Great review. Not a huge petit robusto guy, but these have been getting a lot of positive feedback. 1
TNT009 Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 I was very impressed as well and need to scrounge up a 54! 1

I was actually going to ask, I picked up a 50 box on 24:24 and waiting to try but have been keen to see which is better. Why did you feel the 50 was better than the 54? Would you say the flavour profile is similar to any other brands? I've never had a QD before. 1
OZCUBAN Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 great review Ben had my first one last week in singapore absolutely fell in love with them my cigar of the year and due to the fact there pretty much sold out world wide they are popular little buggers as far as i am concerned you can stick your Monte #2's where the sun don't shine we have a new Cuban Kid on the block .... 1
dangolf18 Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 Interesting...I've only had one, but it was horribly disappointing. Boring, one-dimensional, and light bodied. 1
Lotusguy Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 Interesting...I've only had one, but it was horribly disappointing. Boring, one-dimensional, and light bodied. Had 5 of them and hated them all. For me the 54 is leagues above. 3

LLC Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 haven't had the 54 as yet but you have piqued my interest cheers Me as well. May need to find a single to try. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
Haaltert Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 Had 4 of them. 2 were really Nice but the other 2 were disappointing. All came from the same box 1
PuffDaddie Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 Nice review! waiting on a box of the 54's can't wait. 1
alloy Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 Haven't tried the 50's, but the 54 really was a good cigar. 1
dicko Posted June 5, 2018 Author Posted June 5, 2018 I reckon the mixed reviews in this thread might be on account of the youth of these cigars. Sent from my SM-N910G using Tapatalk
Cubatabaco Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 Bought two 10ct boxes and smoked on ROTT. I didn't particularly care for it, but will revisit in 6 months to see how they are doing. Still waiting to get a few 54's. Side note: One box is a lot darker than the other and from the same factory and box code. Only tried the lighter, more QdO'esque in color. 1
Bearclaw Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 Sounds delicious. Thanks for the detailed review dickos, keep it up! 1
TheMonk Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 I've had a couple, and both were quite good, a bit to my surprise TBH. Nice job! 1
phlee Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Tried one for the first time today. Love it! Will be adding it to my rotation 1
dicko Posted June 8, 2018 Author Posted June 8, 2018 I love the 50 and also bought a box here a few weeks ago. They show tremendous potential but I don't want to blow through them before they start to reach it, so I've put them away from now. I have heard some say the 54 is even better. I don't think the 54 have hit 24:24 yet have they? That's always a risk when cigars smoke well young, you don't even find out because they are gone good problem to have I guess.I've only had one of the 54's and it was sweeter again than the 50 but very similar flavour profile. The one I had had a fire retardent wrapper though Sent from my SM-N910G using Tapatalk
