I decided on this one,.....huge at almost 11in across and heavy as hell. That's just a shadow inside, its all the whiteish color. Haven't seen any pics of this style, is it new I wonder?

Not a new style, but one of my favorites along with the extra thick based version that's like 25 lbs.  I have a smaller version of yours (more like 4" diameter), and would love to add the bigger brother to the family.  Great pickup brother!

Got back from our week in Cuba(I'll post trip pics later, still going through them) and thought I would post a  picfrom Hotel Nacional. I came looking for an ashtray.....and look at what they had. Where is a shipping crate when U need one?

When I was there in November the counter was full of ashtrays as well with more in the closed cabinet behind. There are lots to choose from now but have a good look before picking one as the lettering on some wasn't as good as others.

Got my Hotel Nacional Ashtray seized at Cuban airport security on my visit in October, going back to Cuba again this week. Glad to see the selection is at its best.  I definitely plan to bring a few home with me,  in my check in luggage this time!!!  Great post, you made a great selection!

What reason for seizure??

It was in my carry on luggage, and being a tall bearded Indian guy, perhaps they may/may not have taken that into consideration on letting me carry it on.

Always check them. They consider them a weapon because of the size/weight.

Can't be any heavier than most womens purses can they??

Made it back from Cuba and all of my purchases made it back this time. I bought the large square deep ashtrays shown on the first thread.  But more than anything happy all of my custom rolls and other unbanded scores made it back home this time. Noticed much different faces this time at the terminal. One note our local friends had made was that during the weekdays they are training students.  When they are training the students the leads in charge are from the military, and leniency is drastically reduced.
