Grew up on Angus, Malcolm, Phil, Bon/Brian.  Basically they were the soundtrack of my youth.  So many great songs...what’s your Top 3?

For me:

Sin City

Dirty Deeds

As many may know, we had a karaoke segment to finish off Havanathon and the AC/DC song Thunderstruck was a fantastic way to close it! My Top 3 are... It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Want

RIP Malcolm Young.

Yep, so many great songs.  I know what I’ll be listening to today while building the next humidor... AC/DC and woodshop:  talk about a high school flashback!

Tough one...  AC/DC is more about a vibe than a song.  It's all one big glorious song...

Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap

of interesting note, my dad took me to see them live when I was 16 because he wanted me to see all of the legends while they could still actually rock.  His plan started at age 4 when he took me to see Guns and Roses and Aerosmith together during their hey day and I’ll be forever greatful of his forethought of bringing me to shows, even when I wondered why.

Yea, my dad was always one of the more progressive parents when it came to that sort of stuff.  I will be forever thankful to him for it.  I also learned a few new words during Aerosmith’s set.  Steven Tyler was being pelted with bottles and screamed a few F bombs and some really graphic threats.

i said i liked it!

seriously, there really is not that much difference from one ACDC song to the next - and why am i castigated when i was agreeing with an earlier post which remains unscathed? such an attitude merely replicates the wallabies/poms ref'ing.

it has absolutely nothing to do with comparing bruce to anyone. if you read the post more closely, you would realise that the only comparison i am making is that of JPY having only one song. just minor differences in the lyrics (bar yesterday's hero, in fairness to him). not that JPY is anything like ACDC.

i had no idea you were such a JPY fan.

I also grew up on AC/DC. Sad to see these old bands coming to an end.

After research this morning (my neighbours love me dearly) I've settled on :
Hell Ain't a Bad Place
Thunderstruck
Back in Black
I love It's A Long Way To the Top but those bloody bagpipes still grate after all these years.
On a side note for Ken/Rob :
When Ramones first played London back in '76 a review of the 30 minute gig said that they "only had two songs, a fast one and a slower one, fortunately both are very good "

my point to cardinal whipcrack is that they are not that different.

Agreed, which is why it works. And as I sit here quietly having an early morning RG Perla on a cold London day, having played a bit of AC/DC for the last couple of hours (apologies to Marco and family next door) the analogy between that element and CCs comes to me - they're all basically the same, from the same stock and formula but each subtly different and distinct and generally very good. The extrapolation of this could then be which cigar is which AC/DC track? The Bonn Scott era are obviously the discontinued lines. I'll leave that to others, I think I've had too much coffee already...

Top 3 ? ....Kind of like asking which of my children I love most. I'm glad we got to play tribute to them at Havanathon.

My favourite was always the KiWi anthem. Dirty deeds done to sheep.

The other was. It's a long way to the shop if you want a sausage roll.

I always loved the "Flick of the Switch" record. Maybe it was just the timing in my life, but those songs are so raw sounding and really great. Classic AC/DC.

RIP Mal Young....
