Popular Post Ken Gargett Posted October 18, 2017 Popular Post Posted October 18, 2017 had the annual week there last week. always brilliant and relaxing. the fish have been a bit off in recent years but the gang still love it. eat and drink far too well. and we had plenty of great wildlife. there were a few times i would have love the camera but it was not to hand - an eagle flying by with a snake in the talons; a dingo with a fish it had caught and another with a big bandicoot. both times the dingoes were not at all bothered by us. one trotted within a few feet and just kept going. (apols for the sideways pics - i can't get rob's system to do better). could not believe the number of turtles we saw, both on the beach and in the water. some days, it really is worth getting up pre dawn. nice relaxed arvo on the deck - the ocean is the other direction. and for those interested, that was a fabulous jeroboam of fritz haag auslese. and there were a couple of fish. an occasional beach beer and smoke. 8 1
madandana Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Looks like a great time. Thanks for letting us in on it. What kind of lizard is that? Is a Dingo the same as a Joey? Or is the lizard the Diego and the Joey a Joey. Sorry we don't have all this in Minnesota.?

The lizard is a Lace Monitor. 1

Sorry we don't have all this in Minnesota.? it was terrific. the lizard is generally called a goanna but that covers quite a number of species, but technically, it would be a lace monitor. you don't want to get bitten but they prefer to avoid contact. they can get scared and then they like to go up a tree and if not one there, they can run up humans. the 'joey' would be a swamp wallaby. lovely animals. dingoes are reasonably common and are considered the purest breed as they are not 'polluted' by domestic dogs.
westg Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Wish I could pluck that barnacle off that turtles head 1
