Prior to the 19th century, some western countries had a week off to celebrate Easter.

In the United States, I was surprised that Good Friday was not a federal holiday when I travelled there with my family in 2011, but it is a state holiday in 12 states.

We get Saturday and Sunday off. Nothing on Friday or Monday, but you can use vacation balance if you have any. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We in the U.S. celebrate Easter as the day that Jesus moves the rock covering his cave and steps outside.  If he sees his shadow, it means six more weeks of winter...... I may have that confused

You show us your photo first and then we will follow......

4 day weekend here in Ireland.

Rob, to ensure we go to mass the Irish government helpfully force all pubs and bottle shops to close on Friday so thankfully it's a good day for catching up with mates at house parties although I always feel sorry for the tourists wandering about town wondering what the f%#^ do you do in Dublin on a wet Friday when every single pub is closed....over the years I've done the decent thing and adopted tourists and brought them to parties with me!

Theres talk we might be dragged into the 20th century with the government thinking of changing the alcohol laws to allow pubs to open next year onwards though

Great reason to have a sale!  Jesus died have a sale, Jesus is risen have a sale! Passover--sale, Snow-have a sale, sunny--have a sale, hail--big big sale!, sun came up--have a sale, gas low--have a sale, gas high-have a sale, rain, snow, sleet, thunderstorms, honoring veterans, Presidents, workers--have a sale!  Great business to be in.  Fortunately I work for a great family-they're awesome!  Family's awesome--have a sale!

off Friday, Saturday, Sunday......weather to be in the 70's wonderful New England spring weather.

Flowers blooming, song birds returning from the south (central america) and the huge amount

of cherry trees blooming a ton.  A reward for a shitty March winter 3 storms ice, snow and  temps.

Days? Plural?  Surely you jest!  Lucky to have Sunday off!

Zero days off, however being a glass half full guy, there is also no traffic driving to/from work in DC so it takes away a little of the sting.

None. No religious holidays here.

When you say "here", Claus, do you mean California, work or some fancy shoe store?

As per our collective bargaining agreement we get Friday and Monday off.  Never work weekends.  I know most people in Canada don't get the Monday off.

I think we get 1 day here in Ontario.  But honestly i have no idea.  I'm always the last to know about vacation days.

if some members are wondering where their posts went, they were deleted. DO NOT BRING UP GUNS, SHOOTING etc. ray, you especially should know better.

if you are new to the forum, you might not be aware of the endless crap that follows. which inevitably leads to bannings, suspensions, fights.

it does not matter how innocuous you think your posts are. they incite serious problems.

and do not think you'll do it and the mods will simply go through and delete and you can leave it to them. this was a one-time easter special.

Friday through Monday with the wife and child away at her parents. I declined the invite and am having four days of solitude and peace with my own "to do" list.
