Well, this was a weekend to forget.  My dad's been fighting a good fight against cancer but his quality of life in the past year has really suffered and after his last round of chemo really hurt him (

I'm always saddened to hear of another loss to cancer.  I'm sorry for your loss.  I lost my mother 15 years ago and even though there will be pain and sadness to face the happy and positive memories will be what stays with you through it all.

I sometimes think that perhaps the worst part is that the world around us continues on as if nothing has happened. There is a heavy mist only those affected see and have to deal with. But, the flip side is that the sun does continue to rise each day.

Very sorry to hear of your loss.

My condolences and deepest sympathies to you and your family.

When all is said and done, what remains are the memories.  As long as they are alive, we have never truly lost our loved ones.  I reckon that your dad will live on in a great many people's minds...

My sincere condolences on the loss of your father.

I enjoyed the articles...sounds like a great guy, a fixture in the community who has touched many lives. Great to hear about the field naming, I'm sure he was honored.

All the best to you through the grieving process. Take care of yourself.

I know well how hard it is to go through a loss like this.
Cancer took my dad 11 years ago, and even now, there is not a single day

that goes by without me thinking of him. As I get older the more I look in the mirror

The more I see him looking back at me.  I share your grief, but moreover
I thank you for reminding me that for a far too short time the world was a better place

for having your dad in it.

I will P.M. you the next time Sarah and I drive up to Hallock  or down to "The Cities" to visit her family.

Hang in there,
Rick

SKALLS: Sincerest and deepest condolences to you and your family.

It is so cliche to say "He is now at peace", everyone says so, but that is purely because we don't have enough words to describe to someone we love, care and respect our thoughts fully knowing full well that your loss is so immense. I think there are no words to convey such a large loss when one's parent/s pass on. Just know we care mate.

We don't know each other off the forum but should you wish to contact me, please do. I think majority of people these days has had someone pass on from cancer. It's a horrific condition. I myself have lost 1 grandfather, 2 uncles and 2 aunts from it.
