Popular Post El Presidente
If I remember correctly, Piggy posted in a thread the other day about how prevalent mottled wrappers were going back 15 years ago. Mottled wrappers are those where the oil in the wrapper appears to be in 'blotches" I loved this box of Upmann Number 2 MEG OCT 15 that I ran across today. Notice the "mottling/blotching?"

NSXCIGAR
I use the terms "blotchy", "splotchy" or "marbled". And I think the discussion was related to Corojo vs Habana 2000 wrappers and how the Habana 2000 seems to have this characteristic while the Corojo was much more uniform in character. Personally, I have no qualms with the so-called "mottled" wrappers. If they burn well, I'm a happy guy. And the nuances in the colors are actually fairly attractive, IMO.

Jeremy Festa
Blotchy wrappers are the new skinnies/discontinued cigars. i.e. "I only smoke blotchies!"
MahDooRow
There's nothing wrong with those wrappers. Not a thing. Beautiful IMO.

There have been some instances in the past when I would get a complaint about mottled wrappers. I have never seen it as a flaw. Just a thing of beauty.

Saw a happy little Staffy yesterday being walked down our street, his (? I think it was a he, didn't check or ask lol) coat looked almost exactly the same. Dark, shiny, brindle coat. Same with the cigars I am a creature of habit that is for certain. Frankly mottled was the best I could come up with, yet "brindle" is very accurate and I might have to rip this one off!!! Good call mate! Nice box of cigars Bwana! I must admit, while I don't normally go for these ultra dark cigars, I could go for these... -R

CopperHeaD
"Brindle" is perfect! Love to witness history as a new term is coined (in this case, new application of existing term). Couldn't come up with a better descriptor. Those sticks look great.
shortsqueeze
The Cubans call the blotches "banderas" and I've been seeking out and buying boxes that look like this for years. Good stuff.
hoffmr3
Just reminded me of a box of MC2 from LUB ABR 14 that I buried in my deep sleep tupperdor... So glad to have a new name for them!
hjmclain22
Just smoked one of the PSP HU2s that was on last week's 24:24. Was such a surprisingly good smoke ROTT. I wish I had bought another box maybe 2 more. These are really good.
