El Presidente Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 I fly back into Brisbane this afternoon but already the forecast is for an unseasonal wet weekend. I don't handle the cold or the wet. When they combine I take on all the attributes of a bear with a toothache. There are a few reliable activities I fall back on when such weekends hit. They all involve wine and lot's of it.....and I am on a pre China trip dry spell (OK Sydney lads I have a few glasses of wine last night....but I was only being polite and my best behaviour!). Let me know your favourite things to do on a wet weekend. .....and if anyone mentions boardgames then I am deleting you from the forum.
... Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Foot massages... They lead to good things ? Have I mentionned browny points ?

I don't need any more Brownie Points. I need to use the ones I have before they expire as to the "rule of Brownie Points". If anyone would like clarification on the "Rules of Brownie Points" let me know and I will post them up as a forum service 2
WarriorPrincess Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Boy have you got a lot to learn on both accounts !!!!! There is never enough on both
jmg Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 maybe not necessarily wine, but everything is a good excuse for drinking. the weather's great, let's drink the weather sucks, , let's drink etc etc 1
seattledude Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 I like working OT when I know it will be a wet one.
dicko Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 I enjoy vegging out on the couch watching tv. Maybe have a tinker in the shed.
PapaDisco Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 I used to like throwing on the rain gear and going trail running when it rained . . . but then I got old! So now I stoke a fire and launch into a . . . um . . . friendly contest . . . um . . . involving a decorated horizontal surface . . . of sorts . . . with dice and a tiny sports car, steamship, scotty dog, and cat . . . But hey! We usually open a bottle of red too!

JohnS Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 No boardgames so good ol' fashioned Battleship is out of the question? An educated guess (on my behalf) suggests that you'll catch some wet Rugby League games on TV on Saturday afternoon involving the Broncos and Cowboys. I like to catch a classic movie on a wet weekend or watch AFL, Rugby or League in winter, especially in the wet as they often produce close contests.
Sunsmoke Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Smoke a cigar or two in a local cigar lounge and massages of course. Typical for HK I think! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

There is never enough on both Husband points are like airline miles, useless when you really need them. In fact they may be worse than that. When your spouse intercepts that huge shipment from a 24x24, I don't think reminding her of that foot massage is going to help matters. 3
David88 Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 I cant remember the last wet weekend where I am now, but on bitter cold/heavy snow weekends i would normally catch up with some reading, try to watch some rugby on tv or if brownie points are needed then i find its a good time to get some housework/DIY done.
Akela3rd Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Put yer wets on and go fishing. Trout aren't good in the sun but a bit of rain to break up the surface makes for good sport. Or read John Gierach - best fly fishing writer around - he's got lots of stories about being out in the rain and how good the fishing can be!
Eric E Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 A good book (the old fashioned kind with actual pages and a cover), a cigar and alcohol (of course). Out on the screened in porch with a fire, if it's cold.
LLC Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Firstly stay dry, second enjoy a cigar on my covered balcony and watch the rain.
