Some cigar shops in Cuba, notably the shop in the Habana Libre hotel, have humidors of 20-50 cigars made for around festival time. They often commemorate a notable figure, like Chucho Valdez, Alicia Alonzo, Che Guevra etc and often have second bands made and applied to cigars in those humidors. That cigar is almost certainly one of those. Same cigar, no difference whatsoever, other than the second band.

I have only seen similarly banded BHK in a small 10ct Book humidor. They were released by the LCdH in Habana Libre to mark their IV anniversario.

I have not seen them with regular production Cohibas.

A lady from China in an Asian cigar forum posted the pic and claimed that it was "very very special limited edition" that her husband got in cuba made from 04 cigar leaves... blah blah...

I was just curious as to how "special" this double banded cigar is.

I was just curious as to how "special" this double banded cigar is.

The only thing "very very special" is the second band .... would it have 3 or maybe 4 bands it would be "the very very special ultimative absolute fantastic" .. regular Cohiba.

As I stated elsewhere, it has a second band which means better cigar.

Not sure how they pull it off, but those blenders know that an extra band will really make the blend shine extra bright;)
