TomF Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Maybe the embargo will be lifter next yr. Sent from my SM-G928V using Tapatalk Dream on. But the change needs to be approved by the Congress, which is controlled by the Republican opposition. Until the current makeup of our Congress changes, the embargo will not be lifted. 1
cigcars Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Hmmmm.....does this mean we can (sort of) order products from each other!??
Habana Mike Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Wonder how closely packages from the island will be monitored? 1
anacostiakat Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Was reading an article on this in The Washington Post just now. Just a pilot program but a start!
kuma Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Sounds like a start. UPS in the states starting in the new year (2016) will not ship tabac. products within the the states. Looks like when things open up in Cuba we will be at the mercy of the USPS. Thank god for FEDEx not going the same route as UPS...... 1

If USPS vigilance on tobacco products is anything like the rest of their work ethic, we'll be fine. 2
PigFish Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Our post office runs about as well as the Cuban government. Should be a good match! I wonder which political bundler, now working for a third party carrier got in this deal... -Piggy 1
Fosgate Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 I'm sure anything going there will be like sending items to the Philippines. Workers will probably open and steal anything of value out of the envelope or package.
kuma Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Wifes friends in Italy have told us some crazy stories about how shipping packages from Italy to say the same location either in Japan or New York on any given day the price changes and is never the same. And you consider yourself lucky if the package(s) / letter(s) gets to the location your attempting to send them to. I think US postal system is not all that bad considering other countries systems.
