El Presidente Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Just finishing off a Romeo y Julieta Belicoso 2014. Cherry just keeps drifting in and out at differing intensities. medium full. Deep tobacco richness, black coffee core...but that cherry sweetness one of those cigars that deservedly was relegated to the crap bin for over a decade. Somehow, someone took some interest and produced them as they should be. I want to give them a hug. 1
JohnS Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 The Saint Luis Rey Serie A that a few of us had on the deck late last month. Everyone agreed it was a great cigar. Yet if compared to other corona gordas such as the H.Upmann 46, Cohiba Siglo IV, Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No.1 and Ramon Allones Superiores, it doesn't get the recognition it deserves. A wonderfully complex cigar. 3
melies Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 So would you say its safe to order RyJ Belicosos now Rob? I mean, they have the honor of being my absolutely worst cigar ever. For me my recent Undercraker is the Partagas PSD5, went from a cigar I hated to something that I cant live without as of late...

Happy to pick them for you. 1
polarbear Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Under rated cigar? I had a Cuaba late last week (don't remember the name but it was the smallest vitola in the line) that was surprisingly decent

irratebass Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Had a Flor De Cana back in August that blew me away. I don't remember the year....maybe a 2012? Anyway it was a gift from a herf....smoked it on the drive home and was really impressed. I know they are not a loved cigar....myself included, but this one in particular really hit all cylinders for me that day.....maybe I was just remembering my good times at the herf.
gr8eman Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 La Flor de Cano Grandiosos are amazing. I also like Vegueros Tapados in the can. Perfect fishing cigar. My friend smokes them when he makes wine and loves them! 1
catawbamatt Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 had a great Sancho Panza Belicosos the other day. A very overlooked marca. 1
Guest rob Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 I've gone through a box of Boli PC this month, as they are a brilliant, any time of day smoke.
kuma Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Not sure if these fall into "underrated cracker" but they are smoking brilliantly; Punch / Punch AUM / ABR SEPT 14 smooth not a lot of spice (pepper) but loads of smooth tabc w/hint of coffee w/cream mild to med. Can't remember status (PSP, HQ or PE) me think HQ but it does not really matter. They are the best I think I currently own, came from the Rob's 24:24 program bought around Oct 2015. Man I pray that more are heading down the pike I will gladly break my cigar fast for another box of these. 1

Bartolomeo Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 2015 Sig 6.....surprisingly approachable and tasty 1
Boosted Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 I don't know if these are underrated or not, but the QDO Coronas ULA 14 have been nothing short of glorious. I kept putting off trying the cigar because of all the talk about it needing to age. Fabes convinced me to try one, and I was blown away. That first QDO Coronas was a top 5 cigar of the year. 1
Notsocleaver Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Not too much that is under the radar here. My last two boxes of Cuaba Salomons have been stellar, but they don't get much love here. I agree that QDO Coronas ULA 14 have been really good, and unappreciated by the rest of the internet, but I think they have had plenty of buzz here.

Cracker = brilliant Under crackers = underpants/underwear 1
ElPuro Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Agree on the Punch Punch sentiment. Just had one last night from AUM Nov 14. Very good.
Phinz Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 2015 Sig 6.....surprisingly approachable and tasty I don't think the Siglo VI can count as "underrated".... But glad it was tasty, even being young!
stunod Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 had a great Sancho Panza Belicosos the other day. A very overlooked marca. You just stole my thunder. Had a Sancho Panza torp from some older stock, maybe 2010 or so and it was great. 2
earthson Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Fonseca no 1. Shied away from it for years after hearing how "mild" it is. Have some 2009 that are simply packed with goodness - a great buy!
LGC Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 I like Wheat Thins and Triscuits. Ritz are good, but I feel too guilty after downing a sleeve. The added fiber makes me feel better about consuming the carbs. A lot of old ones. With the current lineup so butchered down, it's difficult to find anything that isn't tried by at least some fraction of the smokers out there. I'd say that some of the "cheap" blends have been satisfying, since being changed from being MM... HU Majestics, RyJ Tubos 1,2, etc. The only thing is reliability with blends and tobacco quality. We all know that there's a 50/50 chance of getting a good cigar, or crap cigar in any box... whether paying $3/stick or $40/stick.
Al3xanderdelag Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 I've recently been delving into Quinteros and I got to say I do like the Favoritos, a very underrated cigar imo 1
Dimmers Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Maybe qualifying as underrated as still not that hard to find - sampled a few more PL Robusto REs from 2007 after some recent forum chatter. Already a fav, but if anything, they appear to be getting better. Just stunning.....
