ElPuro Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Just saw the terrible news out of France. Hope no one here is affected... https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/europe/paris-rocked-by-explosions-and-shootouts-leaving-dozens-dead/2015/11/13/133f5bc2-8a50-11e5-bd91-d385b244482f_story.html?hpid=hp_hp-banner-high_paris%3Ahomepage%2Fstory
Popular Post Fuzz Posted November 14, 2015 Popular Post Posted November 14, 2015 Absolutely sickening attack on innocent people. These terrorists, and all who harbour/assist them, need to be wiped out with extreme prejudice. My thoughts for all those affected. 9
helix Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Just terrible , sadly this is going to be a game changer globally. Thoughts are with all affected.
Guest rob Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 This event is getting worse by the second. Latest news says over 100 hostages killed, 1 by 1, in the concert hall. I'm so saddened that this is what the human race is capable of doing to one another.
BuckeyeSmoker Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Absolutely horrific. Prayers to everyone affected
Popular Post Puros Y Vino Posted November 14, 2015 Popular Post Posted November 14, 2015 Horrible and sickening. To our Parisian and French friends our thoughts are with you. Stay safe. To everyone on the forum, please keep the discussions civil. This is an international site with many cultures represented. I understand the need for some catharsis but please dont derail. So much is unknown at this time. 5
prettybigkat Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 When does the west stop being so dang pc? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 4
Popular Post Warren Posted November 14, 2015 Popular Post Posted November 14, 2015 What is unknown at this time. We all know what why and who. The who part have already claimed it. They own it. It is upon their heads. Turning the other cheek and being apologetic for our western culture is not solving anything. We are at the beginning of some of the most horrific times in history and it saddens and scares me. I was brought up to love and respect all people regardless of color race or creed but I am learning to hate. I am learning to be suspicious. A piece of me seems to die every time something like this happens. To all our friends in France. Please be safe and well. 10

It is time to deal with this threat to our WORLDS way of life with same way we are being attacked, with no quarter. 3
ElPuro Posted November 14, 2015 Author Posted November 14, 2015 It is not about a specific religion, regardless of what they screamed. They simply use the religion as an excuse for their terrible acts. Don't forget the Crusades. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crusades 2

You think that bringing up the crusades in some way explains what is happening now. What you have just posted is part of the problem we are facing right now. A fear to call a spade a spade and a ridiculous need to say yes but look what we did a few hundred years ago. Yes back in medieval times many people did medieval things. You know what the glaring difference is here. We are not living in medieval times, well at least many of us aren't. The huge problem is that a growing number of people want us to live in medieval times again. Open your eyes. 6

MrGTO Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Just a reminder.....this post is about Thoughts and Prayers to those in Paris Let's keep it on track. I am not sorry about my posts but I agree with you 100%. I am sorry for the loss of the innocent and their families.
Warren Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Yes you are quite right Trevor. It is a post about that but you know that this is a very emotional topic. Many of us feel helpless and afraid and can't see much happening to end this horror. The truly unfortunate thing is that thoughts and prayers will never solve this problem.
ElPuro Posted November 14, 2015 Author Posted November 14, 2015 Was it right to inter all Japanese during World War II and the "Yellow Fever?" Many Japanese Americans died fighting for America. This isn't about the time period. History is rife with examples of emotion and hysteria driving irrational reaction. We must be keen to identify the enemy and respond accordingly. That will be my last post along that line, although I think it is a healthy debate to be had (if done in a respectful manner). My deepest condolences to those who lost your lives tonight, and to their families and friends. Let the lives not be lost in vain.

My deepest condolences to those who lost your lives tonight, and to their families and friends. Let the lives not be lost in vain. You know, I never agreed with that policy during WW2 but it came about because of fear and perhaps a memory of then recent history regarding what the Japanese had done to the Chinese at Nanking. They lopped of more heads than ISIS have to date. The difference is that the Japanese became our friends and we all moved on in history. We are currently facing a group of people who have openly stated that they will kill all of us and prevail over this planet. Please not I said a group of people because I do know that not all who follow a certain religion are of a like mind. This is the hope that we all must cling to. And you are right ElPuro it is a discussion we need to have and it does need to be a respectful one. Nothing is ever advanced through anger.
Popular Post Ken Gargett Posted November 14, 2015 Popular Post Posted November 14, 2015 yet another terrible tragedy that should never have happened. blaming all of islam is as silly as blaming all christians for the appalling acts of a minority of priests or so many other things which have occurred across history (interment in WWII is more a political decision rather than a religious one). that said, it must surely be time to do whatever it takes. i think one of the problems is that many in the west perceive that this is representative of all islam and all muslims, which it is obviously not. but the fact that there so often seems to be such a lukewarm response from the majority of the muslim world gives the impression that there is, at the very least, tacit approval. i don't believe that, but i worry that if there is not a more obvious response, the divide will soon become irreparable. 7
pbibby Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 How about this for now folks; prayers for Paris. Prayers for the families involved. If religion is not your thing, then good thoughts and well wishes. For now, we mourn. We regroup. We can think about the cause after gathering our thoughts. Again, prayers for all involved. Hold your loved ones close. If there's one thing that's certain from this, it's that life is as precious as it is fragile. Take nothing for granted. 4
OZCUBAN Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 My thoughts and prayers to all those affected,France you do not stand alone in this ,the world needs to stand firm and wipe IS of the face of the planet there is no other way
Popular Post Shikar Posted November 14, 2015 Popular Post Posted November 14, 2015 My thoughts and prayers are with my friends and all people of Paris. May God keep them safe and I will, without any hesitation, say that any one who commits murder like this should burn in hell !!! This is about murderers who are the the scum of the earth to kill innocent people. May they die a worse death. God protect us all. Ameen. Regards. A Muslim and your brother of the leaf. 7
soutso Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Sad beyond belief. Enough is enough. After discussing this with a dear friend, a point he has made resonates with me. There are a lot of deranged people out there and sadly for all Muslims, their religion is being used as a vehicle for madmen to carry out these barbaric acts. I'm not religious but I do not consider any of these terrorists to be Muslims. They are bloodthirsty cowards, the lowest of the low. Simple. I reject their false affiliation to any religion.
