Following my recent post on Discontinued Brands, Vitolas, & Finishes (can be seen here).....I decided to look at the current range of standard cigars, but before I published it I thought it would be interesting to see everyones perception of the current range of cigars.

So.....what is your perception of which group (of the various sizes of current cigars) is the largest?

Consider only the current Handmade Habanos SA range of 181 cigars, ie: standard production cigars.

Group 1 - up to 39 ring gauge - The Long, Short, Slim, & Small Panatelas, & Culebra

Group.2 - 40 to 44 ring gauge - The Lonsdales, Long Corona, Corona, Petit Corona, & Petit Perfecto.

Group.3 - 45 to 49 ring gauge - The Giant, Double & Grand Coronas, Corona Extra, Churchill, & Perfecto.

Group.4 - above 50 ring gauge - All the Robustos, Pyramids, & the Double & Giant Perfectos.

Please do not rush off to CCW.com to work it out (there are no prizes)....I just want your perception.

Please indicate which group you think has the most number of cigars.

THE RESULTS ARE NOW BEING ADDED

I'd guess group 4. Everything new seems to be 50+ RG, and it seems that most of the deleted sizes are in the thinner sizes.

Group 2 (1st) has many older releases, followed by Group 4 (2nd) with newer releases. You've summed the recent direction of new releases though.

Well guess that ends this thread no point in anyone else guessing. Thanks John

No, not at all. I assure you I'm guessing too! lol2.gif

Standard cigars may still be group 2 but for RE and LE its group 4 for sure. Should open a new group 5 "donkey dicks"

Group 2 on account of all the cheap and cheerfuls out there.

But I wonder if Group 4 would win if we were counting total number of cigar produced rather than number of offerings. Gotta be a lot of robustos rolled between PSD4s, CoRos, RASS and all the rest.

Eh I'll go with group 4 but wouldn't be surprised if it were group 2. A ton of skinnies hidden within the brands (eg. Bolivar and RyJ with their tubo lines).

I would guess groups 2 and 4 would be pretty close in numbers. I would lean towards group 2 but I think group 4 will take over shortly.
