El Presidente Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 I suspect there is a conspiracy at HSA to make my life as difficult as possible Whil cigar quality has been steadily improving since 2006, the quality of their packaging has gone from bad to worse. I have really noticed the decline over the past 12 months with the following being only some of the things I saw yesterday: No date Code No Warranty Seal Warranty Seal on wrong side of box No Habanos sticker No clasps ....but warranty seal holds box closed A note between workers found in a box of Monte 4 Rejected boxes (middle cigar in box upside down) being pased through. 3 boxes with less than 25 cigars. 1 box with a half dozen cigars unbanded. A batch of Partagas shorts boxes with such tiny nails that they can barely penetrate the thickness of the lid. H. Upman Magnum 46's with the lids upside down. Nothing overly serial. Guaranteed however for a dozen e-mails questioning authenticity..and I couldn't blame the receiver if he raised the question! Please HSA/Tabacuba.....just a little attention to detail. Please 4
JohnS Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Aah Rob...things that make you go, "hmmm" or maybe something more descriptive and colourful!
Popular Post garbandz Posted September 9, 2015 Popular Post Posted September 9, 2015 Pitch 'em in the seconds bin...........and call me!! 6
Scrubber Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 I must admit I had a bit of a laugh at this. Quality control must be sleeping all day to miss those kinds of things. Not funny for a retailer though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
finecigar Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Too funny! Any love letters between workers?
planetary Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Give those boxes with the notes to Ken, who's been asking for roller identification evidence in nearly every review video for the last 5 years. :-) 3
MIKA27 Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 So long as the note between workers are not rolled into a cigar 1
Balboa Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 imagine quality control when production is amped up to supply the US once the embargo is over 2
maxcjs0101 Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 So long as the note between workers are not rolled into a cigar The thing is we wont know..
Ginseng Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Well, that list just about covers it. Aside from the wrong marca in the the box, what else could go wrong? Wilkey
Elvis Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 . . Rejected boxes (middle cigar in box upside down) being pased through. . . Interesting. What sort of quality assurance deficiency merits the upside down cigar? Do these boxes all get returned to Habanos SA? I would think it would be more cost effective to ensure they don't leave the factory than to have to take them back.
SCgarman Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 imagine quality control when production is amped up to supply the US once the embargo is over:innocent: Let us not even ponder this question after reading this thread! Scary.
Fuzz AI Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Well, that list just about covers it. Aside from the wrong marca in the the box, what else could go wrong? Wilkey Sending an empty box that has all the proper labels and stickers applied!
cigarbreak Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Hahaha I got the "No clasps ....but warranty seal holds box closed" on box of Bolivar Super Coronas lol. I only picked up 6 BSC's from the box and used it to put other purchases in while perusing the walk in at the LCDH. My friend employee offered to put new nail in it but the sticker held it well enough to make it back home form Cuba lol
MattW Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 What did the note say? I was curious about that too!
Fumadoro Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 What did the note say? I was curious about that too! I would love to see a picture of the note as well. Identifiers can be blurred to protect our roller friends!
Orion21 Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 If the cigars are coming from Rob, supplied by PCC, I could care less if some joker wrote FAKE on the lid! The cigars coming from Rob are consistently the highest quality available outside of a La Casa that allows you to inspect. I'll be lighting up an OR Connie A I got from Rob when they were first made available in about 30 minutes. Cheers!
Popular Post El Presidente Posted September 9, 2015 Author Popular Post Posted September 9, 2015 What did the note say? Translated Did you manage to get the motor? Are you still coming over on Sunday to do the repair? I have the pulleys and most of the other things that are needed I think. 7
aushy Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Soon the only way to spot a fake cigar will be if the packaging is too perfect! "That box a has a date code, warranty seal and a habanos sticker... sorry mate that must be a fake" 3
jimsta10 Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 Translated Did you manage to get the motor? Are you still coming over on Sunday to do the repair? I have the pulleys and most of the other things that are needed I think. LOL! all along i thought they were robots...
