canadianbeaver Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 As I mentioned in another thread, this week I am in Toronto to sell my home and take care of family business. Yesterday I went to the b&m a couple of blocks up the main street near where I live. I like to meet up with the guys, pay full pay Canadian price to support the guy and smoke outside in the fresh air. I had a look in his wall humidor and thought I had seen everything. We all have this stuff, right? Wrong. These are Kosher cigars, for your Kosher smoker, especially during Passover, or for any strictly Kosher home. Note the Hebrew lettering, the designated seals of Kosher approval. The bands and graphics that are targeted to this particular market. What makes the actual cigar Kosher or rolled in for something special? If you have to ask, these aren't for you? Or perhaps they are? Maybe not. Only God knows? Let's go for lunch.
LordAnubis Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Yeah, what makes thems Kosher? And have they at any point come in contact with non-kosher materials? Were the Kosher plants grown seperately from the non-kosher plants? This reminds me of halal certified water! 1
canadianbeaver Posted May 12, 2015 Author Posted May 12, 2015 And how do you like the name? Senor Solomon? I am going to call Matthew Senor Rotenberg from on.
santela Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 This is curious. Did a quick search and this came up: http://www.cigaraficionado.com/webfeatures/show/id/16458
Bartolomeo Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 I have seen these in Miami at Cuban Crafters store, they have their separate room for storage
Lotusguy Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Side note - you're selling your home? Are you guys moving to the lake cabin full time?? Or are you finally tired of the frigging cold and moving to California? 1
polarbear Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 I've heard of Kosher cigars before The posted CA article is what originally drew my interest Next thing you know they'll be doing vegan cigars...
khamy Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 funny you say that.. http://www.thecherryshare.com/food/baby-corn-cigars-vegetarian-starter-recipe-by-ruchi-bharani
teamrandr Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 I've heard of Kosher cigars before The posted CA article is what originally drew my interest Next thing you know they'll be doing vegan cigars... Im surprised companies are pushing organic cigars.
Smallclub Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 Im surprised companies are pushing organic cigars. Plasencia has a Reserva Organica line that gets good reviews in Europe...
Fuzz Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 Im surprised companies are pushing organic cigars. Companies found that inorganic cigars were a touch hard to light, and when they could be light, the draw was terrible.
shlomo Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 I've heard of Kosher cigars before The posted CA article is what originally drew my interest Next thing you know they'll be doing vegan cigars... yep, this must have been 3 or 4+ years ago. Kosher cigars have been around for decades.
