A good friend brought out some fun bottles this weekend.

This bottle will be deeply missed once emptied.

Family still here for the 4th celebration. Dinner tonight was sous vide Chuck Roast at 132 degrees F for 24 hours and then seared in garlic butter in cast iron. Served with a 2008 Chappellet Pritchard

Bladnoch, the zombie lowland malt (distillery keeps dying and reviving). Lowlanders don’t get a lot of love, but I’d happily drink (the now closed) Littlemill and good indie Bladnochs until they disappear for good. In fact, I’d take a good Bladnoch over a Rosebank. Don’t shoot!

The Blue Corn Bourbon is delicious! My second favorite from them. Always have a bottle on hand. Only released once per year too.

The color on that BCB is ridiculous. What barrels did they finish in?

Just enjoyed a nice curiosity seventy two and now breaking into a super treat both from treehouse brewery. Both phenomenal beers so far. Looking forward to what’s next

Horse Soldier Bourbon. American Freedom Distillery. Enough said. I will purchase goods and services all day from our veteran owned companies so I am a bit biased. With that said this is damn good Bourbon. I like the mash bill on this barrel strength release. Crappy picture but was trying to get some light through that gorgeous charred finish.  Cheers

Solid Whiskey from Seattle. This First Cut is single barrel at barrel strength. Water or ice required. I think this mash bill is 100% Barley Malt? Delicious.

Keeping the thread alive! Solid Chianti with a fantastic Sangiovese nose exploding from glass. I think that’s why JS likes this one. Can’t disagree.

Had some the other day. Was really smooth and I don’t like the brown stuff in general. May have to buy a bottle myself.

This bourbon gets routinely shat upon by the so called “experts”. They don’t know anything. This bourbon is one the the best values in the market and I always have a few bottles on hand. Nice pick!

Why not Wednesday... hop butcher unwind your mind. Brewed 7/22/19. Love the stamp “ hank fishes with crack “
This is better than the smoked filled
Room I just drank. Finish is so creamy and sweet must be the lychee ...
Not quite as hazy but total flavor explosion

When in the Islands... Fire Rock PA. In today’s world at 5.8%, a light beer! I always gravitate towards a malty style beer if/when I have one. Cheers ?

I've never been excited enough about sherry cask finished bourbon to buy it. Was it very sweet?

peaky B is a terrific show.

i'm curious about the assumption that a sherry cask finish is automatically sweet? or am i misreading?

is there a reason for this or just your experience?

A little concoction I've been playing with I call a "Pink Cougar."  2-3 shots good vodka, several shakes of Peychaud's bitters and soda water.  All over ice.
