Lamar Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Bolivar Petite Corona. Through half a 13' box of HQ, haven't enjoyed a single one...
Hunter1974 Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 had one recently flavor was a 10 had some burn issues though meant monte 4
Puros Y Vino Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Monte 2. Gave them plenty of chances. Off they go! RA Extras. Don't believe the hype. Great vitola, lovely band, nice dark wrappers, underwhelming delivery.
StingMeadery Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Cohiba Robustos Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
jayceskinner Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Bolivar Royal Corona & Juan Lopez No.2 Haven't been able to pass the half way mark with either of these yet.
Surucipe Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 PSD4 has never really delivered for me, won't buy them again.
RijkdeGooier Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 None. Reason is simple and has been hinted at by many reactions, some vitolas are off for years and then come around again. Examples already mentioned are Monte 2, ERdM CS in a negative way, for me my boxes of RyJ 1 and 2 (bought when the market was down on them) are positive examples of vitolas that have bounced back/have developed nicely over the last 5-7 years There will be many more that fluctuate over the years. I will try to be judicious in my purchases though and have the added advantage of being able to see/smoke what I buy beforehand most of the time.
Smallclub Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Upmann Royal Robustos. These were excellent but are terrible now. Seems they have entered an endless 2nd fermentation… 1
Styler Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Monte Edmundo/Petit Edmundo. Maybe it's just my bad luck but I always seem to end up with wind tunnels.
habanolover Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Monte No. 5 AMEN to this;/...Look nice, burn great. However, little to no cold aroma and little to no Monti flavor profile. Bad box? I don't know, but the Boli CJ never played coy with me...
GasGuy82 Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 epi no. 2 and Monte 2. Epi 2 put a damper on an African Safari. As for Monte 2, had 3 different 3 packs from 12,13,14 and did nothing for me.
joeskow Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 HDM Epicure Especial. They smell fantastic, but all I'm getting is a mild nutty smoke. I want complexity and lots of flavors. Ah well, my brother will like these Mine as well
Orion21 Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Bolivar Royal Corona When I have a well constructed stick they can be amazing!!! However, my recent experience has been nothing but wind tunnels that last about 30 mins. I wouldn't say I will eliminate them from my humidor, but I won't buy them blind anymore. Rob's hand picks or nothing with these going forward.
Cohiba Stevie Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Monte 4. Im like a broken record but you get like 5 good ones in a box...
ksblazer Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Already given up on Fonseca, Cuaba, Sancho Panza as well as most of the Hoyo's except the Des Dieux.
Walt69 Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Monte 2. The PE blows it out of the water in the flavor department for me.
ogus Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Epicure no 2 eh ok but doesnt do it for me. one which everyone likes but you and me both I can appreciate some like fruit punch cigars and aromatics but not for me really sad to hear the obits on the Montie 2
PigFish Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 I could easily boot just about any cigar over 44RG. I am no longer transitioning or searching. I no longer try to try cigars that I understand as untested, unreliable or untrustworthy. I am decided, hell bent and stubborn... Isla Pigfish has been purged of most of the undesirables many moons ago! On another note, the Cubans have done almost everything in their power to remove me from their customer rolls. Frankly, I believe that many of the best cigars are no longer made... There are still some gems to hoard and smoke. I could smoke the same brand and size everyday and get the tastes and variety I seek. I think I understand the Cuban cigar! Cheers! -the Pig
