Popular Post El Presidente Posted April 6, 2015 Popular Post Posted April 6, 2015 I am not a massage type of guy. Something about soothing whale music/jungle music that does everything else but relax me. Di on the other hand is up to her 8th massage of the trip and last night after a full day of snorkelling, BBQ seafood lunch and dinner (sea snails, sea slugs, stuffed squid, red snapper, scallops, mussels, etal) we popped into a local street bar that has adopted us. While I am tapping this out at on the river at another bar (+ a Hamlet and bottle or Chilean Red), Di is shopping with one of her local minions....and telling me she is saving a fortune Anyway, a lovely lady named Lynne runs the massage parlour next door and insisted on Di and I having a full body massage. The cost...$12 for an hour and I had already had enough red wine while Di was onto her 5th screwdriver (they squeeze fresh orange juice and freepour vodka to a third of a large glass). We were well and truly ready! The full body massage was truly magnificent. I asked for hard thinking that no person weighing 50kg with such small hands could imprint themselves on my frame. Hell I should have asked for soft! Brilliant! I came away after an hour in la la land. I didn't mind the soothing music, the insence....I would have dozed off if it wasn't for the regular gulps of "Jesus" as the knees worked the back. Great experience as has been every aspect of this trip to date. The people, the architecture and the food are my fondest memories to date. I haven't experienced such simple and consistent stunning dining for a few dollars in my life and I have traveled somewhat. The Silkworm salad I am eyeing for tonight! Di has just called me letting me know she is lost in Hoi An and can't find the bag store she has been negotiating with for the past three days. Seriously the woman has absolutely zero internal GPS! I had better go and catch up with her as this close to Defcom 4 in Di's eyes. Cheers! 10
OZCUBAN Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Ha Ha greta stories Rob the power of a good massage cannot be overstated IMHO the firmer the better you might pull up a bit sore the next day but it will be worth and @$12 per hour so bloody cheap food looks delicous glad you having good one ,will leave you to go and find Di cheers Steve
NJP Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 I had the full dody in Vietnam with the wife shotgun and my little Lynne pulled on a free happy ending. I had to stop proceedings and say "just the massage I'm good". But that was $30US.
JohnS Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Thanks for updates, El Pres. In Di's defence I reckon 3 Screwdrivers will see me lost where I live in Sydney, let alone Hoi An. I hope you can stand up straight and walk properly after that massage, mate! If Di has been negotiating for three days over a bag store, be prepared to wait up for her when you find her. I still have memories of waiting an hour and over for my wife at the Coach store at the Waikele Premium Outlets in Hawaii last December! But she more than helped with fashion advice at the Tommy Hilfiger store soon after, so it was worth it!
madandana Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Glad you are having a good time. I to am reluctant to go for a massage but eveytime Dana drags me into one I'm glad I went. Enjoy the rest of your trip guys!
Hunter1974 Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Lol sounds like quite the experience. Yeah some of those little folks have a grip of God .
Habana Mike Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Just put Viet Nam on the list of must visits! Kelly loves a massage as much or more than anyone and that's been going on for a long time..... I'm not a huge fan though can't argue that every time I've submitted myself to one it's been pretty great - especially with the happy ending When are you coming back Rob? We don't want you to get too relaxed
cris77 Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 massages are a great way to tune up your muscles, i usually get them as Judo and Jiujitsu can take a toll on your body...but if you are a pure office working sitting ona chair for 8 hours a day, a good massage can do wonders to your health..
Fosgate Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 I could never go after seeing a swat team charge past my insurance agency office to our office neighbor that was a massage parlor that got busted for what you can imagine. She was a nice woman that would visit in the morning and we shared our coffee with her. While it was disturbing watching her get escorted out in handcuffs crying, it was not as troubling as envisioning me in those cuffs. I would have been so weak willed had I known. 1

Fosgate Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I think that would have been a massage with a happy ending kind of place... For sure! My company had claims adjuster offices flanking both sides of her place. They always wondered why it got noisy some times and some guys would stop at their office asking where she went (As if they were her secretaries) Here is the story on her. Of course they don't show picture of the two girls working for her. http://www.keloland.com/newsdetail.cfm/judge-temporarily-closes-hong-kong-massage/?id=33409
