For those who dropped the coin on CRS...

I don't particularly think they have too much aging potential. I think give them some rest but in a year or so I think they will be as good as they will be. I don't think there will be much stand out stuff happening in 3 years or more.

The CRS is my first EL purchase, so I'm interested to see what everyone thinks. I'm not too sure what the aging potential on these are. My plan is to wait 3 years though at the moment.

I somehow managed to convince myself that this was a good purchase. Originally I was only getting 1 box for a friend, but then, after searching for links for pictures of the actual cigar and it's description / reviews, I noticed the prices on "other" sites...

I told myself something along the lines of "don't even think about if it's $400 or more..." sure enough, Rob has them at $399 ...

Thanks Rob!

58 ring gage?

guys , boycot habanos on these releases, and make them return to old good times....

long skinnies for ever....

Oh, I understand, but, unfortunately, it's been selling like crazy. I doubt I would try it at half the price due to the RG.

I think I'll go have me a Montecarlo now...

At the moment Mus, I would agree with you. While I paid wholesale and not retail, based on the 2 I have smoked so far, I wouldn't spend the money again. Both were fairly mild up to the last third, not completely one dimensional but not exciting. I plan to let the others rest for the better part of 9-12 months and try again, but I don't see these being a 5 year aged cigar that just blossoms into maturity. Hoping I am wrong and i find something different next time I light one up.

I have enjoyed the boli le14 and I don't see these being super great after 3yrs. They're fantastic right now. We'll see if they have a sick period then you never know.

Mus, please tell me how you arrived at your opinion. I'm not disagreeing with you, just curious why?

There aren't a lot of rough edges to smooth out on this blend

Plus they remind me a little of the Hoyo Short Pyramids from a couple of years ago (and the 520 to a degree)

The Short Pyramid is only 4 years old and its already starting to decline

The 520s seem to be in their sick period, so we wont know if they come back better or worse for a while

I bought a box of them at a good price (for Australia) and have smoked 2 out of it.

I'll leave the rest for a year and see how they go, but in all honesty, I don't NEED to. They are very smokeable right now and I'm not sure what more time could do to even out the blend

I tried a couple of these in Havana last November and again just a couple of days ago.

I found that my first one in November had great complexity of flavours that reminded me of a cross between a Monte 520 and the Cohiba 1966. They were however a bit muddled.. it was also a bit harsh in the last third.

The most recent one had definitely mellowed out a bit but not all that much. A bit less harsh in the last third and flavours had not yet married throughout the rest of the cigar.

I would say that they need at least 2 years before they start to hit their stride.

Excellent cigar straight away. Super smooth with lots of light cocoa and sweetness. It's a mild/medium smoke. It's defintiely a 92-94 smoke right now and needs maybe just 6-12 months to smooth out the last third. I was very impressed with the cigar even though I wanted to hate it with a passion; a 58 rg and $40 a stick can't be loved.... Oh but I do love it!
