I thought when I went I my ride today with the boys I would tell them that I like Cab-Sav and a Cigar. To the pub I rode and went to the bar and asked Steve (the bartender) for a glass of Cab-Sav he's response was did you bring the Wife today well not a good start.I grabed the glass and had a sip I have no idea what the red liquid was in the glass anyway went outside sat at the table and got a few looks and remarks which I can not mention. In my vest was a Pat D4 and I pulled it out and lit her up.Well that was it I got a hammering no beer they didn't think I smoked.I tried to drink the red liquid in the glass but my taste buds just shriveled the only thing that kept them out was the D4 I was 2/3 in and they said to the next one.Well all I can say the D4 doesn't hold ash at 80 ks and burnt real quick I can still see that red liquid on the table in that misty glass and I'm still trying to get the ash out of my eyes all in all never again with this lot some people don't get it so its back to the beer I go, and waiting till I get homeDoes to enjoy my thing.I do have a hunting trip in 2 months I'll take my own Cab-Sav and a couple of Monte 4s I wonder how the Roo shooters I go hunting hogs with out at Longreach will go with a bit culture. Does any one have a similar experience to share I need back up cheers.

You do what you want mate, I love Cab Sauv and a cigar too, my mate's will rib me for it but I'll rib them about stuff they do too, it's just banter, give as good as you get, don't take it to heart and it will suck the joy out of it for them.

Next time take a culebra or a lancero :D

I can imagine it looks badass riding a hog and smoking a cigar, but yeah I suppose the reality of it isn't great! Maybe that is more for people who chew on cigars that have gone out?

Lol hog hunting I'm in !!!!!! And I don't give a Damn what you drink as long as you're having fun and enjoying yourself. Just tell them you're country with culture and piss on them if they can't enjoy the finer things in life. Hell it works for me lol

Drink what you want, smoke what you want, eat what you want. It's got nothing to do with being more cultural, it's just about doing what you enjoy. You're all friends, try not to take everything so seriously

Red wine or rednecks, one must choose… :lol3:

I bet this redneck has had better wine than you could dream of.

Your mates will have wine or cigars with you or they'll politely decline whilst enjoying your company. If they don't, they're not your mates.

I doubt it and I don't care, but I suggest you add a bottle of sense of humor to your next order...

that reminded me of the comedians in cars getting coffee episode with larry david. david said that one of the reasons his marriage fell apart was that his wife got mad because he switched from coffee to tea, haha.

It takes all kinds of people in this wonderful world we live as cigars, wine and spirits if they were all the same how BORING would the world be. I have learnt something this weekend take every thing as it comes to you as is a cigar you try for the first time sometimes it's good and sometimes not so good Its all about the experience and the diversity.

Greg...i can tell you from experience that most beers go better with a cigar than a Queensland pub Cab Sav rotfl.gif

Di and I were at Kingscliffe Friday afternoon at the beach bar. It is a nice bar and certainly not salubrious. I asked for their wine menu and has a selection of 3 reds cheap reds. I asked for a glass of the best one they had. Should have known better as Di is still laughing from the face i made after the first sip lol3.gif

It is only last year that a pub outside of Esk recommended a New Zealand Cab Sav because it was "imported" rotfl.gif

Guinness goes great with a cigar as does any crisp Pilsner. You can get both at almost any Aussie pub. Stay away from the wine!

As for Rednecks and wine.......i proudly put myself in that category!

Last Poker night I went too I spent most of the evening puffing on a Cohiba PE and sipping mild tea

You should have heard the ribbing I got for that!

It all calmed down towards the end cause I was the only sober one still at the poker table and took most of the players for every cent they had.

I enjoy a good red with a cigar, but as Prez has mentioned, if youre at a pub you're better off with beer than expecting to find a decent red behind the bar.
