free85 Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 It's getting harder and harder to find people who are open to new experiences in this day and age where "being educated" is something to be made fun of. I know around me it seems like a defense mechanism... "I can't understand this, and hence it intimidates me, and so I'll make fun of it." There's a big difference between a good mate giving you a good ribbing and people who feel uncomfortable who are trying to pull you down so they feel comfortable again.
khamy Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 This situation could be likened to buying a quality Cuban cigar from a small tobacconist at a train station. You could be pleasantly surprised by the exceptional find but more times then not, you wont. As mentioned before this, there are some good options with beers. Coopers Pale Ale, Little Creatures Pale Ale... i appear to have a preference for pale ale. 1
leftimatic Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Does any one have a similar experience to share I need back up cheers. The only good wine story I have is when the wife and I went to a local restaurant and asked the bubbly young blonde waitress what kinds of wine they had. She spritely replied " Oh we have both kinds! Red and White!" As for buddy's giving me a hard time, back in the pubcrawling days you drank whatever the hell you wanted. Just be ready to go when everyone pulls out. We drank everything and sportsters weren't chick bikes either. Sonny Barger rode a sportster. Actually there were more Brit bikes than anything. Heck I ride a hopped up 1980 Honda 400 nowadays. Hit the ton up a few times on the old girl and that is no easy feat in the mountain roads around here. Short story do what you want, most good people respect that sort of thing. 1

I've had my hands in side a tone of the Honda 4s. Nortons, BSA, Triupmh... Love those classic bikes. Getting one, keeping it running, and getting it to hit a ton taught me A LOT about bikes. It's all fuel injected now, which is nice, but I miss the character of my old carbureted friends, to be sure! There's just something nice about turning a wrench on something you care about.
