How do big RG cigars conserve wrapper leaf? Don't you need more mass of wrapper for a larger RG than a smaller RG?

Edit: Is it because smaller RG are less expensive plus result in more of the wrapper being discarded. So that means less $ per wrapper used?

Surface Area to Volume ratio. Smaller cigars feature more surface area per unit volume, hence more surface area to cover (more wrapper tobacco used).

Most impossible, but some wishfull thinking at this point and not until weather permitting - not going to work until???

1. Re-open RyJ Factory and roll, the real brands that belong to it

2. Roll the REs at their Mother Factories - will sell itself

3. Roll the regular production of brands belonging to their Mother Factories and stick to it

4. Get rid of the flukes, like EL and LCDH

5. Discontinue the RE program for Asia/Pacifico - does not work

Just being polite

I agree with a lot of this except the lcdh release stuff. A lot of these cigars are great. Superiores, inmensas, gold medal, royal robusto, etc. One could even say it's more successful than the regional program.

Specific cigars I would like back:

- Upmann Super Coronas, Lonsdales

- Partagas Selection Privada #1 (the dalias not today's monsters)

- Ramon Allones Corona/PC/898V

- Bolivar Lonsdale, Gold Medal, Coronas, Especiale #2

Generically I think that each Marca should be made at their mother factory exclusively.

Hire me. :spotlight:

:lol3:

It's not entirely a bad suggestion. I can see you doing great things in regards to quality control, Frank.

  1. Get rid of redundant vitolas in the same line. Why does RyJ have 11 PCs/ Small Panetelas? 12 if you include the expected "Club King"release in 2015

Every marca should have a PC, Corona, Robustos or Hermoso no 4, Lancero, Lonsdale, and Julieta no 2 or Prominentes

Restrict limited-type releases

Focus on expanding and improving standard releases especially for smaller marcas (Dips, LGC, QdO, ect.)

Not to sh*t the bed if/when the embargo is lifted

Reintroduce the La Escepcion marca with a full range of cigars using the blend from the RE Italia release as a starting point.

- Bring back Briones Montoto so I can smoke my Cuaba's and my beloved Romeo marcas

- Reinstate casa matriz and quality control will return naturally through customers experiencing consistency of taste over time

- Outside of books/humidors, the only true Edicion Limitada was (albeit ironically) the 2010 Behike. Put a cap on annual production (ideally on quality of vintage) and dedicate 5 rollers at EL to it, maybe then the cigars will be smokeable again. Who needs Edicion Limitada when you have Producion Limitada? Intrinsic win.

- Move Trinidad back to EL and put a cap on production as well. Kill Vigia; introduce a new size, Trinidad Atados.

- HSA almost got it right. Kill the current Anejado line. Build a sterilized greenhouse and HEPA filtered processing plants to grow me some god damn corojo again. Make me an ultra-limited annual production of 90s style corojo cigars, ONLY Prominentes, Julieta #2, and 32-36rg x 7+" skinnies, so there can be absolutely no messing around with tobacco. Call that line Anejado.

- Make PL Magnificos/Legendarios/Regalias, LGC Gloriosos/Deliciosos, and Punch Oro #1 into a regular release

- Make RA Phoenicio 30th again, but put cigars into tubos

What frustrates me the most of the current line up is vitolas vary from one brand to another. Why is the half corona only made for Upmann? Some particular vitolas are just the right size for the moment and yet cant be had across every brand. Why every brand doesnt have a petit robusto or a half corona/minuto is beyond me.

A focus on consistant quality. I want my Partagas to always taste like a Partagas, and my Monte to always be a Monte etc.....

Oh, and open a LCDH store in Houston :) I'll work there on weekends for minimum wage spotlight.gif

That's some good terroir right there!
