Popular Post ChanceSchmerr Posted February 21, 2015 Popular Post Posted February 21, 2015 I've had a chance to try some of the new releases from Habanos in the last couple of weeks. Even if no one cares, i figured I'd get my thoughts out on them. Cohiba Robusto Inmenso Ridiculoso LE (ring gauge 195) LordAnubis was ultra kind to give me one of these to try, despite my protestations. Thanks my friend! The size felt wrong in the hand for sure, but construction and draw were perfect. The cigar taste was....Good. i can't fault it, it was genuinely a good cigar. It certainly didn't taste like a Cohiba, didn't evolve much, but i was surprised to find that it tasted good. I won't chase them, the size still disgusts me and i don't have high hopes that it will evolve into a spectacular smoke, but there was nothing wrong with the taste and they clearly managed to make an approachable cigar with this one. If you like the size or like cigars that cost a fortune and want to smoke something that tastes good too, then by all means get these. You won't have competition from me - but I'll stop bagging the cigar itself, only the size and trend. Partagas serie D no 6 I didn't want to like this. I really didn't - why keep shortening the Serie Ds? They are fine as they are! LordAnubis gave me one of these too (Thanks again mate) and i lit up. Wow. They nailed the blend PERFECTLY, gorgeous rich spicy Partagas. This is what a new release should taste like - i was so impressed! My only disappointment was that it ended too soon. A brilliant tasting smoke. Again not my favorite size but i will get some of these at the right price. Thoroughly impressed. RyJ Piramide Anejados here in the UK, they have different words for lots of things than what we use in Canada. Underwear are pants, the toilet is the loo, and garbage is rubbish. I've adapted to my new home. The Anejados is an appalling piece of rubbish that belongs in the loo. It's like HSA wiped the collective good will of cigar smokers in their pants with this release. Havnt smoked something this boring and vapid in a long long LONG time. Bleccch. By the way, I'm smoking a LGC Gloriosos UK RE right now. Costs a mint, but a fine fine cigar. I got the taste of peanuts in the palate! Remarkable. H&F knows what they are doing with their REs. 10
LordAnubis Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 No one cares!!! Just kidding mate... don't get too upset about my mean comments
laficion Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Hey Chris, Great reviews of the new cigars, I specially liked the one of the Partagas Series D No.6, Just great bro.. Guy
rodrigodeanda Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Thanks for the opinion! Now I want to smoke one of those Serie D No 6, I guess they are shortening the size because of changing smoking habits. Not everyday we all have 1.5 hours to go through a SDN4 and it would be a waste to put it away 30 minutes in. Anyway, thanks for your thoughts!
Mr.T Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Very nice and concise summary of the recent releases! Will have to try the new little Partagas when summer comes around. It might be a nice smoke to have while attending the bbq Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
JohnS Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 It will be interesting to see how the D6 goes market-wise. It's over in 15 minutes and each third lasts 5 puffs but who knows...it may catch on!
spirit Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Thanks for sharing! Good to read you are enjoying smoking in the UK...
mash Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Thanks for these reviews. I really liked the D5, look forward to the 6.
SparklePony Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 This was great. I actually like that the D6 is so short since sometimes that's all the relaxation I'm allowed by life. Now I will have to try them.
CanuckSARTech Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 LOL. Awesome Chris. Just read this. Thanks for sharing!
Bahnofstrasse Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 I agree with all of the sentiments on the the D6. They are packed full of flavor and are enjoyable. I was concerned about price/size/smoke time, but I partook of one last night out on my deck and got 45 minutes from it. Selling for a bit under 8 Euro. Recommend them as an addition to your short smoke portfolio. 1
Rushman Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Thanks for this. I have one box of the aforementioned Cohiba EL. As I likely stated elsewhere on the forum, I wouldn't have paid retail - I picked it up from our shop in Mexico. I have had two smokes. Both were well made but fairly boring. On the milder side, not any real evolution. I have avoided the mini D's just because it looked odd to me, but based on your review I will give it a chance.
