Hard to believe that Christmas is but a week awayparty.gif

What do you traditionally do for the Christmas/Holiday period?

We will be closing down the Monday prior allowing a little time to relax before the big day. We have found that Working late Christmas eve is not exactly conducive to a relaxing Christmas day pooped.gif

Christmas day is catching up and sharing time with families. You would form the opinion if you saw Aussie Christmases on TV that it is all about prawns, oysters, crabs and seafood. Well it is....as well as turkey, baked hams and a host of cold beer and fine wines.

We then traditionally have a 10 day break until the Monday after new years. It is beach time! Beautiful hot time of year traditionally and there is nothing better than early morning surfs and late afternoon fishing. This year I will take the kids to the beach later in january after the rush. for Di and I , have booked a 4 night mystery holiday. it is a mystery because we are only told where we are flying to on Christmas eve. if we end up in your part of the world we will drop you a line!

As for Christmas gifts for myself? I have ordered a couple of great books from this years "Best books you have read" thread. Looking forward to a little quiet time to read them.

Fill us in! ok.gif

Looks to be our "new" tradition (8th year now) Christmas brunch. Fantastic food and drink. Hopefully can steal away for a cigar.

Gifts for myself are a couple of purchases from here so not much of anything under the tree for me.

Happy holidays all FOH!

I have a 3 year old daughter and a 5 year old son, so we are in the sweet spot as far as Christmas goes. We have all the family over for dinner on Xmas eve and then it is just us in the morning to see what Santa brought.

It is like being a kid all over again.

Already winding down at work here for Christmas but will be in the office probably right up to the morning of Christmas eve.

I have to pick up the Turkey before 2 pm..

We're going up to my parents this year, 5 minutes away. I'll do the turkey on the barbeque and bring it up. My old man doesn't like to eat after 1:30 pm so barbeque goes on at 9 am! Gives me an excuse to get out and have a cigar. :)

Most of the shopping done. My wife already got her present of a night out at the opera. I enjoyed it nearly as much as she did.

Shopping for the kids done. Christmas plays for both of them on Thursday and Friday.

A few big nights out coming up with friends who live abroad and come home for Christmas, as I did in the 90s.

20 of us or so in a pub, for a few hours we're all 19 again.

Some good surprises for the kids this year. Nothing better than having things ready in the morning that they really really want but aren't expecting..That's Christmas.

Heading to a beach house on the central Florida coast this Saturday for a week. The wife's parents live a few miles from where we'll be so spending Christmas with them and a couple of her siblings.

Will visit my Mom and sister's family on the way back.

Not sure what I'm getting, always a surprise. I do know she's been shopping at Orvis so something for the outdoors I imagine.

I do have a couple boxes and the Partagas book (Amir's, not the Habanos one) coming as gifts to myself :)

Extremely busy schedule this year.

Company party, next day Christmas show with the family at a local theater, Saturday is a big block party where we all walk from house to house and spend an hour getting together and eating. Sunday is family dinner where all the relative come by. Christmas Eve with the girlfriend's family. Then Christmas Day with the close family.

..And hopefully a lot of cigars throughout the week!!

When I was in Perth I bought a suitcase full of decorations and we had our Christmas party a few days ago (I didn't attend, too tired). Santa arrived in his sled with sirens blazing... some people thought it was an evacuation and grabbed their go bags and went to the muster points lmao.gif . Here's some photos.

Christmas eve we will have a dinner, not sure what will be on the menu but i'll get whatever we can from Ghana this week and go from there. Christmas day we will have a lunch and Christmas night we will have a dinner as well. Boxing day will be eating the left overs :)

Christmas day i'll give some guys half the day off then Boxing day i'll give the rest half the day off. My standing rule is people with family or people who actually care about Christmas have the Christmas day off and those who don't care get boxing day off. Then have to figure what to do for new years!
