Cisco Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 I grew up in Ottawa but spent 10 years living and working in Grand Cayman. I moved back to Ottawa to raise a family but I so do miss the tropical weather. When I was younger I used to think I liked the cold weather, now I realize I despise it ( that and the decreased sunlight in the winter). With family and friends here it is hard to leave but I do day dream of one day being back in a tropical paradise. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
martymonty Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 It's funny, the wife and I were talking the other night, why we didn't move to a warmer climate when we were younger? It would be too hard now, obviously, age.. family...job... Etc. Though like other posts, I play hockey, ski a few times a year... Even enjoy the odd walk with the wife and the dogs on a cold snowy day. But overall... I DESPISE the cold and the lack of sunshine. Definitely a warm weather person !
rodrigodeanda Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Thinking about it I guess I´m a warm weather kind of guy. Lately I have realized how much the weather affects my mood, when It´s rainy and cold I feel like doing nothing and when it´s sunny I just want to work, go outside and do a bunch of things. I know that´s kind of a common thing I just didn´t realized until we recently moved to Sao Paulo.
Arkay Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 In Chicago we have 2 seasons. Winter and Construction. Man I hate Winter. Man I hate construction. Time to move. 1
TiminBC Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 I do not like extremes. Not a 35-40 C or muggy weather person. Above 18 C is tolerable. Working on the 6 and 6 plan. Love Victoria BC 6 months of the year and plan spend 6 months somewhere sunny but not too hot.I have looked around and no one location seems idea. There always seems to be a season to far away from ok. Ecuador in the mountains seems close but I love living near the ocean. 1

Move to Ecuador, and become a land baron in the mountains. Wear tall leather boots large white hat and ride my horse through the courtyard and up the stairs in my grand front entry. Pistols blaring all the way!
rtrimbath Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Definitely warm, which is why I hate life in Pittsburgh, PA. Winter isn't very conducive to cigar smoking either. I bought a space heater for the garage, but I definitely need to head south.
ShortFatHokie Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 I live in the Mid-Atlantic. They call our area "four seasons country". We get all four seasons...sometimes within days/hours of each other. Matter of fact, a couple of days ago it was in the low 70s for highs, today the high won't get out of the 20s with snow showers. I like it that way! I can handle the heat just as well as I can deal with the cold. I guess its all what you are used to. My wife, on the other hand, would much rather it be 80+ every day.
targa88 Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Transplanted ex-pat. 30 yrs later still not enjoying the cold weather. Rather be somewhere warmer...desert is so therapeutic
Hash Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 warm weather, you dress the minimum,in cold weather it is layer over layer,a hassel .
HiPower Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Raised in the cold and moved to the heat due to work. Would prefer have the cold most days. When it gets to 105' and humid working outside is a drag! Can only take so many layers of clothes off before the customers get scared.
