tmac77 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Wow. Seriously impressive work here. I just made this little cigar bundler thingy a month ago. Bundler.jpg What the heck is that Frank? 1
canadianbeaver Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Fosgate brother, Is this a real photo, "Raccoons of the Corn" or a photoshopped image? I may never fu***in sleep again. Thanks a ton. 1
Fosgate Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Fosgate brother, Is this a real photo, "Raccoons of the Corn" or a photoshopped image? I may never fu***in sleep again. Thanks a ton. Real, common that the families are still grouped together in the fall like that. I had a camera set out once for deer and one pic showed up with several families moving through at once. Must have been at least 30. When I was in high school we used to lay in a field or corn pile and blow on a wounded rabbit call...wait till they are almost on us and jump up and start plugging them. At $20 each back in the 80's, a couple high school kids could make some easy money. Can't do that anymore with mountain lions moving into the area. Speaking of, if the raccoon pic tripped you this one will.
leftimatic Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Nice to see a swedish axe, Gränsfors Bruk Skickas från min iPhone via Tapatalk The best IMO. I have a Hultafors double for felling and limbing. I also have a couple single edge for squaring up the logs. That is a lot of work more than I want to get into. But fun none the less. Lots of old Swedish axes kicking around these parts. Pick em up cheap and throw a handle on them save hundreds of dollars.
DrunkenMonkey Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Recent jewelry box I made as a gift (one of several I made for give aways): Dresser I built for my son's room: Furniture I built for my office several years ago (where I'm sitting right now): Image of the desktop from above. The wood was cut & milled for me by a friend in Northern California: That jewelry box is just stunning. Absolutely beautiful work.

CigarAsh Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 AWESOME. So - when are you gonna start taking orders??? Get in line! I made the mistake of making boxes as gifts for staff in my office when they hit certain anniversaries. I've got a run of 4 in my shop right now that are all spoken for because of this. The box I showed a picture of takes a while because of the carving. Think I have a several year backlog of people wanting me to build them stuff. Don't have much room left in my house for furniture so starting to build things for my sons who are about to be out and on their own.

GernBlansten Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 I just bough this for my daughter for Christmas. That is one TINY box for all that crap to be in there. Looks like a good project for a DC/Churchill in the garage. Did the same one for my daughter a few years ago and put a SERIOUS dent into the handle of rum that night. I wish you luck, Sir! 1
targa88 Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 trunkador.jpg 300 bottles wine cooler(50$ on kijiji) conversion to humidor. I took out the broken compressor. Sealed the hole with and built some sliding shelves out of spanish cedar. I have lots of beads and a Hydra LG. Stable! I have to take a picture later... Would be curious to see pix of the conversion
AlastairE Posted November 12, 2014 Author Posted November 12, 2014 Oh gad. You'll spend more time on the phone with IKEA customer support trying to track down missing pieces. And then going from hardware store to hardware store trying to match them up with something, anything just so you can complete the damn thing in under 3 months. I have assembled IKEA stuff before. I would rather shoot myself in the foot than go through the insufferable brain damage that can ensue. Please keep a guy posted. If you can pull it off in one weekend, I guarantee one official mancard for you! And entry to the DIY heroes hall of fame. Nailed it! It was pretty easy, but I put together one cupboard, two hanging racks (1 not shown) and one tv unit. Next up is the veggie garden and the home gym. Even had time to drop a pool in the back yard and enjoy my hard work! 3

One official man card is due, and welcome to the DIY club. Good luck with the garden and gym.

REASON Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 Just the very start to a van conversion to road/camper/toy hauler. This will be the official EFH club van to take on long hauls to comps and camping etc. Lots of work ahead but one piece at a time.

All I got out of that is: "Now we have a warm, mobile place to herf when the weather drops down to -40deg C."
