What do members do when taking a cigar (or maybe 2) plus lighter and cutter out for the day/evening. Just use a tube and pop all the stuff in a pocket or some more elegant solution. Not thinking about a caddy, just a stick or 2.

Spare tube if it's just one cigar, but then again, I rarely take less than 2 cigars with me when going out for a smoke. So it is invariably my 3 cigar case or a small box with the cigars in a ziplock bag.

1 cigar mostly in tube, 2 is in a leather case. I always have cutters and lighters in the car.

Two cigars to go out with is not a concept I understand at all.If one is plugged, you only have one left. Then you run across a friend, and you cannot smoke the other one because you do not have one to offer him.Total disaster of an evening, and totally avoidable.

Scary to think of only carrying two sticks,,,,,,,,,,,

For the evening? reach into my RyJ No. 2 box and grab one or two to put in my pocket.

I always carry my dual torch with punch so nothing is a problem. Has a neat fuel window that i check before leaving the house.

Otherwise, my 15ct cigar caddy follows me everywhere I go loaded to the minimum with:

One short (1h) smoke.

Two long (1.5>h) smokes

One non-Cuban for me or strangers

A 20 tin of Montecristo Blue/Red

Since the day I bought it, it hasn't been empty for more than 2 minutes.

I also HIGHLY recommend the telescopic tubes available on Amazon. Black airtight plastic that folds down to however much you want it. It's very bulky, but it does the job.

For the cheap-easies and the reductionists, reusing the aluminium tubes is probably the best bet. Saves the most room, provides the most protection, costs the least, contains the most humidity, AND comes with a cedar splint for a backup lighter.

I have a leather Xikar three finger case to carry my cigars with me on the go. I sometimes use a tube if I'm only carrying one though.

scary indeed, i always factor in a dowel or bad cigar (worst case scenario) and then you're out one cigar

nothing worse than anticipating a good smoke or being in the mood for a good cigar and reality falling short while you remain helpless

I know you said no cigar caddy but that , for me is the best option. I have 2 leather finger cases that I never use, my tubos don't hold most vitolas I smoke, but the 5 ct caddy does it all. I even usually put 3 cigars in there with a cutter, lighter in my pockets. If I have perlas in the mix, you can fit 2 in one slot. I love my caddy!

I'm with Garbandz on this one: two cigars is too few by four! :P

I fill a 3 stick Siglo leather case (comfortably fits 52 ring cigars) and then bring 3 tubos (robusto or corona gorda or PC) for backup, friends, strangers, etc. I frequently come home empty! cigar.gif

I keep the Siglo case in the humi for rH of the cedar lining, and it's a good case, but bulky. A better fit in the suit would actually be 3 more tubos. Even Churchills or Siglo VI's would take less room in their tubos than in the case. And people do like being presented a cigar in a tubo so I suppose there's a bit of panache in that.

Punch and rollagas just go in the pocket!

I never risk carrying dowels around since I precut and test draw before traveling. Don't know if it's a sin but has worked pretty good till now

I have a 3 finger leather case that has a built in cutter, so my sticks go in that

I always have a decent cutter and lighter in my car but if I am out on foot I have the cutter on the cigar case and just buy a packet of matches from the a local corner store or servo
