Popular Post El Presidente Posted July 17, 2014 Popular Post Posted July 17, 2014 Condolences to all affected. So many Dutch, Aussie, Malay, American, Britt lives and on and on. . This is an international crime. I hope that all politicians come together and act as such. 6
GodofFire Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 How do you like how they claimed to have shot it down only to take it off there Facebook when they found out it was a passenger plane and not military. 23 Americans were on board as well. They need to find out how it happened and who did it then bomb the heck out of who ever is at fault! !!
El Presidente Posted July 17, 2014 Author Posted July 17, 2014 23 Americans were on board as well. Just saw that and edited. What an appalling loss of life.
pbibby Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 This is an international crime. I hope that all politicians come together and act as such. Can't agree with this enough. Something must be done. And it's up to everyone to make it happen.
NMJoe Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Simply a disgusting act. I grieve with the rest of the world.
DrunkenMonkey Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 So the black box has been sent to Moscow "for investigation". Hmm
... Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 That is totally ****ed up... Hopefully something meaningful is done to the people who did it.
sengjc Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Just heard earlier on the radio on the way to work - shocking news indeed.
Habana Mike Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 A horrible tragedy and another senseless act of violence against innocents. I do hope those at fault are identified and dealt with.
REASON Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Terrible, terrible crime... what were they thinking allowing the flight path to go right through there though?
TheLiquidGator Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 KGB has the black box. They will never give that over.
MIKA27 Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Terrible, terrible crime... what were they thinking allowing the flight path to go right through there though? My thoughts exactly! 1
AndrewNR Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Russia has officially applied to Ukraine to investigate. No response. White House and some other Countrys, Australia included have offered any assistance etc etc.. According to sources the only response to that has been denial and an overlapping trough of lies. Rebels were congratulated by the Russian Government several days ago for capturing a Ukraine surface to air missile and photos have since been deleted. Claims made by rebel leader of shooting down another large enemy transport were also posted within 20 minutes of plane going down and deleted as it emerged it was a passenger jet. 3 similar kills on transports have been made this week allegedly. All sorts of horrendous photos going around of the crash site. passports, luggage etc.. I'm sure we can all imagine. Question is what do we really do about this? Sure it's a crime. Sure I'm upset, angry, disappointed as everyone else. There's so many different political and military actions happening right now its unlikely you'll ever get an accurate scope of who was involved and very little you can do about it unless we all just blaze in on the military bandwagon and start thrashing around to see who has the biggest stick. There's a large *ahem* terrorist niche forming that side of the world.. as any other i suppose.. I can see this all getting very sensationalized and out of control. Body-counts going to rise, Sanctions will be placed and nothing and no body is going to see any improvement from this. Worse thing is.. The laws we need in place to prevent this kind of thing... Are already in place. And everything else is too political or religious to touch. Nobody is willing to be the hard word and back it and people are moving away from education and instilling a quality of life and humanitarian value into people. this is why for the most part I stay out of this stuff. Ok, I'm done. Sorry if anyones offended but ****, Really? Condolences to everyone, involved and effected. 1
Colt45 Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 I hope that all politicians come together and act as such.
Aksan Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 No ......280 passengers of whom half of them Dutch.......WTF. This is beyond words.
kwsaw63 Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Putin blames Ukraine "for restarting the conflict"....this just confirms it was the separatists that shot down MH17. For those who haven't seen it, this is the post from the Ukrainian Separatists leader claiming to have shot down a cargo plane around the time MH17 went down 1
Blace Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 This is infuriating, I hope Europe finally wakes up and starts to turn its back on Russia for supporting these idiots in Eastern Ukraine. If that was Russian military hardware that shot that plane down I hope it is used to ensure Russia is further isolated from the rest of the world until they start behaving like a civilized nation. On another note, given that there have been all sorts of Ukrainian military planes shot down by advance SAMs in eastern Ukraine, who was the brainless idiot who allowed passenger craft to fly through!? Of all places in the world where there would likely be SAMs advanced enough to shoot down high altitude aircraft at the moment it was Eastern Ukraine... Still I put the blame for this mess squarely at Russia's feet. 3
CigarEnthusiast Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Going to avoid the political route, but may all the lost souls R.I.P. Also may the families, friends, and loved ones of the victims get closure! 2
maxcjs0101 Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 MH17 was taking their usual route as the airspace was not closed up until the incident. Terrible, terrible crime... what were they thinking allowing the flight path to go right through there though?
LordAnubis Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Yep. When you have no legitimate reason to go to war, build up scenarios of attack and even loss of life to fellow countrymen, then let the people demand you go to war. Works great every time. Operation Northwoods anyone? Unfortunately we humans never seem to learn, even if it happened just recently! I'll call it now, NATO entering the Ukraine for "security" and pissing off the russians, then russia will probably help arm Cuba(again) and Mexico which will be seen as "hostile" and then it will be on. Unfortunately allies have no hope against the communist world and yes they will all join in. Condolences to the families of those on-board, as a regular flyer this certainly hits home.
dangolf18 Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 KGB has the black box. They will never give that over. Not like there would be anything of substance on it....anti-aircraft missiles supposedly travel at 2,700 mph (4,350 kph). No one on the plane would have been able to see it coming.
Wil Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 MH17 was taking their usual route as the airspace was not closed up until the incident. I heard an interesting interview with an aviation consultant on the radio this morning. He discussed the risk assessments they undertake when they prepare their flight plans. He claimed that most other airlines weren't using that route due to the situation in Ukraine.
ZinZan Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 It's so sad, so soon. I don't think we can cope with this tragedy again
Optic101 Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Condolences to the families and friends of those on board.
