subiemech Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Now I heard these were great smokes. My first one out of the box was plugged to the point where I had to pitch it. Tried to massage it, tried to run a poker through it. Are others having this issue or was it a fluke?
Pixa Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Not all tight draws are plugged cigars. Don't know you or where the cigars been. But high humidity in storage or where you are smoking can make a lovely cigar tighten right up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
poisonowns Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 I'm not exaggerating when I say that out of the 2 boxes I've smoked I've never had a plugged or really right draw HURR. I vote fluke.
Wallbright Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 I think it is a fluke as well. The ones that I have smoked have not had any draw issues. Hope your luck gets better with the rest of the box.
Habana Mike Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 I've had just a couple of tight ones out of around 30. A little fridge time helped to open them up - thanks for the tip, Rob!
mash Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Too bad. Hope you have better luck with your next one. These are just a pleasure to smoke.
mk05 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 edit: Haven't had a *phenomenal* one in years to be honest. The last great one was from SUB ABR12.
LGC Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 A plugged cigar out of Cuba you say??? I've never had a plugged cigar!!! If you have new boxes, always let them rest if you can. If you cut a plugged one, put it back in the humi and grab another.
Mr.T Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Very one of mine have been excellent Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
KoreanCowboy Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Had a box last year and no issues. Have more boxes on the way so I'll have to let you know once I dip into them. Although I have to think that with the amount they are putting out of these you'd expect to find a bad one every now and then.
Lant63 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I had a box from h and f that was the worst box of cigars I have ever smoked. Horrid construction issues.
Nedule Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Have a 2013 box of upmann half corona that are perfect Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
mgravito Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Of the 2 boxes I've smoke through, had 1 plugged. Could just be bad luck. I'm sure the rest are fine.
Lotusguy Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 30+ sticks into my first release boxes and not a single one with construction problems - I think you just had bad luck.
LeafLover Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 All HU RR have been rolled well from my experience. Most likely bad luck in your end. Hopefully it's the first and last out of your box.
MC4 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I've gone through 2.5 boxes and none were tight or plugged.
FCUBUCK Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I've been through 8 out of the same box (UPE ABR12) and have had 1 plugged.
CUBANO Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Keep trying them, don't get discouraged. Never had a plugged one yet.
rfenst Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 I've had just a couple of tight ones out of around 30. A little fridge time helped to open them up - thanks for the tip, Rob! Yeah, thanks Rob!
johnhenry Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 If I get a pluged cigar I cut it in half ,you have two small cigars and 9 out of 10 times both will smoke well. To me it's better than pitching it! 1
